LAST CALL MINISTRIES

ISSUE XV
DECEMBER 2014

Weve done this for several years now: providing

new blankets to poor familiesour poor friends, that
is. The truth is, the blankets dont last. The dry season
and the sun eventually break the blankets down.
Visiting our poor friends frequently has shown me
how rapidly the once-new and wholesome can become the worn, weathered and torn. New blankets
are a must in this cold-mountain weather in November. Likewise, weve had the privilege to even look at
some of the old photographs of our poor friends. Its
incredible to see the beauty and joy with which they
were once clad in their youthin fresher times. Life,
with its cynical futility, according to the Preacher of
Ecclesiastes, has a way of weathering down, wearing

out and tearing up the hopes, dreams and short-lived

confidence of all mankind. Our poor friends are there,
in the seeming cruelty of lifes slow trick of transforming the necklace of their hopes into a noose. So we
come, again & again, not just with more flour and new
blankets, but with the hope of a new life held out in
the gospel message. Our desire is for these to know
the one true Savior who wraps us in a life that never
fades, never dries up, and never gets torn. We would
like to thank our supporters for giving us the ability to
purchase these blankets and more flour for our poor
friends. May God bless you continually for helping us
to present the sufficiency of Christ in the gospel to the
poor through kindness and mercy. DM.

This is a color-coded prayer calendar. This is beneficial

to providing you a general knowledge of our weeklymonthly schedule. As you can see, we do have a number of programs to fulfill throughout each week.
Therefore, we need your prayers. Life, in general, in
Ethiopia is also time-consuming in mundane activities.
Things usually dont go so smoothly in developing
countries like this one. We do face a number of frustrating obstacles throughout the week from which developed nations are often immune and free. Of course,
you have your own challenges. And these are, as you
know, so many times spiritual in nature. We want to
please God and to sail spiritually above every hindrance and successfully through every trial. With Jesus
we will succeed! When you hang this calendar up in a
visible place, you will be reminded about what we are
basically doing on any given day. Pray for us!

Worship: Fuel for our missions Flame

The worship of the LORD
Jesus Christ each LORDs
Day, the Christian Sabbath, keeps us going in
missions, and in our mission in particular. If the
spirit of missions is truly
like a flame that burns in
the bosom of Heavens
kingdom citizens, it must
have fuel for it to continue to burn brightly. Thats
a song I heard in Saved
By Faith Youth Camp
once. Let worship be the
fuel for missions flame
were the opening words
of it. I also never forgot
Pastor Bill Ascols series
on worship and review

messages on John Pipers

book, Let the Nations Be
Glad, during Bro. Bills
time at Heritage Baptist
Church. I learned that the
worship of God is central
to missions, like petrol is
essential to the life of an
engine. In theory, I
grasped that truth. An
awe-striking love for Jesus and His glory is what
drove the passions of the
great pioneer missionaries of the past. Today, I
know that truth by experiencefirst hand. On
the field for a total of 9
year plus, I know the necessity of worship and its

centrality to our thrust in

reaching out to those all
around us. In the process,
I have been overwhelmingly blessed, and motivated onward. Below is a
recent photograph of
Sunday worship service
in our home in Mekele,
Ethiopia. Besides countless visitors that have attended our services over
the years, this venue has
been paramount in our
personal growth, in the
nature of outreach, and
in the discovery of new
opportunities for the
preaching of the gospel
time and time again. DM
