Nature Walk Collage

Plan a nature walk with your child when pollen counts are lower
(usually after 10am). Along the way, collect interesting items to
use for a keepsake collage.
What You Do:
1. Bring a bag or envelope with you and your child as you explore the outdoors.
2. Encourage your child to collect different items such as twigs, colorful leaves,
bits of stone, etc.
3. After your walk, talk about the different items hes found and glue them to the cardstock.
4. Use crayons and accents to decorate the page and title/date the piece (E.g. Steves
Springtime Stroll).
5. Take nature walks throughout the year so you can create a series of seasonal collages. How do
the items change? What colors do you see? Use this as an opportunity to discuss the seasons with
your child and teach him about the environment.
