YOUR COMPLETE HEATING SYSTEM
Why choosing a Nexa heating system instead of a simple heat pump?
A heating system provides heating and distributes it through the house
ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. Aheat pump only provides heating.
Nexa systems integrates 100% of necessary components, from the
generator to the terminal units control.
The installation of a Nexa by Carrier system adds value to your house with
contributing to its global energy efficiency.
By purchasing a Nexa by Carrier system, you benefit from a world class
manufacturer warranty for the entire system.

With Conex II, you can adjust the temperature of each
comfort zone of your house from one single place.
Conex II permanently measures and transmits the
temperature of each zone to the hydronic module to
optimize your installation operating.
No more the same room temperature in the whole house!
With Nexa systems you can control independently several
zones of comfort. Each comfort zone has its own hydraulic
circuit and control integrated to the hydronic module. It also
allows you to reduce the temperature in zones that are
unoccupied.

YOUR COMFORT
This is the brain of the installation. All the
components are integrated in the hydronic
module to ensure comfort and energy
savings. Depending on the model, the
hydronic module can incorporate
supplementary electric heaters or controls
other generators like boiler, for example in
existing buildings applications.
HE HYDRONIC MODULE
The heat pump allows you to become
independent from the rising costs of fossil
energy sources, and ensures you instant
energy savings.
It is a mean to reduce up to 4 times your
heating bill and limit harmful your greenhouse
gas emissions.
THE HEAT PUMP
Atitaniumplate heat exchanger is used to transfer the heat
fromthe heating generator (heat pump and/or boiler) to the
swimming pool.
The heat exchanger surface allows to heat a swimming
pool of 100 m

to be heated.

This estimation of annual running cost is done for a 20C indoor temperature 7 days a week, 24 hours a day during the entire heating season.
Comparisons with other heating technology are done against high efficiency boilers and takes into account june 2006 energy prices available in local
government website.
Thanks to our selection software, Nexa installer will provide you a running cost and pay back analysis fully in line with your needs.

YOUR QUESTIONS
GROUND SOURCE OR AIR SOURCE ?
Climate in your area, investment costs, energy savings evaluation by comparison with others energy sources are
clinchers to choose the most suitable heat pump type.
Your expert installer Nexa will recommend you the adapted product thanks to our simulation software.
Ground source heat pumps are appropriate for use in homes situated in locations with cold climates where
temperatures dip under -10C for a minimum time of 10 days. In this instance, the return of investment is similar to
an air source heat pump.
WHAT IS THE BOILER BACK UP?
In existing houses, it is possible to keep your existing boiler - if it is in good condition- as a back up to a
medium-temperature heat pump. The boiler provides domestic hot water and takes over from the heat
pump for the coldest days of the year. It is a simple solution to save money quickly.
Some of our indoor hydronic modules act as a back up to the boiler in case of boiler failure.
LOW OR HIGH TEMPERATURE ?
Each type of terminal unit (35C) has its own water temperature. Underfloor
heating operate at low temperature in opposition to old radiators which
operates at high temperature (65C). The choice of heat pump technology
will be made according to terminal units.
It is important to note that only low operating temperatures allow high heat
pump performances.
WHAT IS THE COP?
The coefficient of performance is a measure of your heat
pumps efficiency in standard operating conditions. Aheat
pump operating at 4 COP means that the heat pump
provides 4kWh of heat for 1kWh of energy paid. These
performances are certified by certification companies, like
Eurovent or NFPAC in France. Energy savings come
mainly fromthe heat pump control of the hydronic module.
WHAT IS WEATHER COMPENSATION?
Whatever the heat pump technology, the lower is the hot water production temperature, the higher
is the energy efficiency. Nexa hydronic module, controls the heat pump operating to modify the water
temperature according to the outside temperature. By this way, the heat pump provides very hot
water only when it is very cold outside.
INVERTER ?
Inverter air source technology
makes the heat pump operating
speed varying according to the
heating needs. This technology
is particularly adapted to house
with very low temperature
terminal units.
WHEN A HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP IS ADAPTED?
A high temperature heat pump is adapted to boiler replacement, when the drop in radiators operating
temperature is not possible.
Whatever the heat pump technologies, the lower are water temperatures, the higher energy is the
efficiency. Therefore, the weather compensating control is essential to reach the energy efficiency of
heating systems with medium and low temperature heat pumps.
ARE HEAT PUMPS LOUD ?
Nexa heat pumps make less noise than a fridge !
And what about aesthetic aspects ? Nexa offers you a range of heat pump stickers (customized).
With these stickers, heat pumps can be blend into the background.
