    As you read each of these novels, take time to jot down your ideas, questions, and noticings during and after reading.     People in all cultures face many adversities. In addition, different people have different ways of handling lifes adversities. Write an essay in which you compare and contrast the ways in which the characters from your summer reading novels handle adversity. Use details from both novels to support your answer.
