FEW GUIDELINES FOR THE STUDENTS OF AMITY BUSINESS SCHOOL

Q1. What do organizations look for in management graduates? Why are management gradates the preferred recruits?

The industry expects the young MBA graduates to be industry ready. Each year, we ask companies

that hire recent business school grads about their hiring and salary projections for the coming year, what candidates they seek, and what organizational goals are driving their decisions about who to hire, what positions to fill, and where to place talent. Recruiters Want Experience: Quantity and Quality Corporate recruiters look at prior experience in job function (53%), industry experience (47%), and years of work experience (42%) as very to extremely important when selecting job candidates from a pool of applicants. Among companies planning to hire business school talent in 2013, 92% of employers rated proven ability to perform as very to extremely important. The majority of employers indicated that a candidates history of increased job responsibility (56%) and prior occupation (52%) were also important. Internships Lead to Jobs Internships will help you build a network of contacts in your chosen industry and expose you to potential hiring decision makers. Hiring prospects for interns is high: 3 out of 4 (76%) companies that had MBA interns in 2012 hired them as full-time employees, and more than two-thirds (69%) of companies that offered internships to non-MBA business masters students in 2012 later hired them full-time.

86% of employers consider good communication skills to be important, yet many employers are dissatisfied that graduates can express themselves effectively. Soft skills such as team working are also vital and even more important than most hard skills, although numeracy and literacy skills are considered essential by 70% of employers. 65% of international employers indicate that having overseas professional work experience makes graduates more employable. Online recruitment is the most frequently used and most effective method of graduate recruitment.

INNOVATION IN DYNAMIC SCENARIO:

Telecom is in bad shape badly hit by government and consumers, innovation is a derivative term. In corporates today no time to wait for investment to materliase into innovation. Theory of creative destruction innovation never comes from inside but comes from outside. Ex: Google takes up Youtube. No time, out of the box thinking, prove your self theory all these are the genisis of innovation. Max innovation takes place in the USA. Society in India is killing innovation. In india placement is concern for MBA student in USA it is Patent. Play the game to win. India is not a third world country as it is the richest in intellectual capital 90% of the patents in the USA are by the Indians. Change the patriarchal mindset and challenge yourself. If you always do what you have always done, youll always get what youve always gotten where you are change is the only constant. Top 5 innovative companies- Apple , 3m , Microsoft . Google bought over Youtube. Google. Xiomi taken over Apple Change is the only constant
