3 VALUES OR WORLD VIEWS OF INDIAN CIVILIZATION

India has one of the oldest and the richest civilizations in the world. It has been around for many years, dating back to 3000 BC.The journey of Indian civilization start from the ancient times up to the present day with a unique focus on the major developments that made India what it is today. Interestingly enough, evidence can be found that Indian civilization started in Mohenjodaro and Harrappa which are both located in our present day Pakistan. Indus valley civilization is considered to be the great first civilization of the world and this study will feature in details the reason behind this and the eventual fallout of this era. Periods of civilization after the first civilization like the Aryan, Maurya and Gupta and their contribution to India and their contribution to politics, trading and even art are really contribute to the transformation of the Indian civilization. The first value of Indian civilization is Religion.Religion is an integral part of Indian civilization. They have many religions and focus on a few of them like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and Islam as they developed in India. Understanding the origin of Indias caste system which had been used for many years and exists up to this day is another benefit of taking up this course as well acquiring knowledge about the village communities in India. Another value is the political development in India. From the Vedic era which introduced Hinduism through the Maurya period which embodies the basic tenets of Buddhism, the relationship between the political and religion aspects will be one of the main focus of this course. Other political era that contributed to the modern India, be it on the architecture aspect or trading, will also be included on this field of study.

Other than that, Indian civilization is truly one of the richest and fascinating civilizations in the world. Furthermore anthropologist will also find that studying Indian Civilization is helpful on their careers as they learn about the complex dynamics of the human behavior on different era and how people with different beliefs interact with each other . An archeologist will greatly benefit from this field of study as they embark on a journey through time from the rise and fall of the worlds first civilization and the different culture on the different era of this very diverse and unique civilization but archaeologists were always puzzled by Vedic texts (dated c.1500 - 900 BC) that talked about the phrase, "nomadic invaders conquering mighty citadels under the banner of their God, Indra ..." . However, no trace of the 'mighty citadels' had ever been found nor of their mysterious inhabitants, the Dasas. . It can be for a personal reason as well as just wanting to learn about this unique country and trying to understand their origin, the beliefs and tradition that they have and how each one of us can find a part in India. In addition, Indian culture also one of the value of the Indian civilization.Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in its very own way. Our manners, way of communicating with one another, and also are one of the important components of our culture. Even though we have accepted modern means of living, improved our lifestyle, our values and beliefs still remain unchanged. A person can change his way of clothing, way of eating and living but the rich values in a person always remains unchanged because they are deeply rooted within our hearts, mind, body and soul which we receive from our culture. Indian culture treats guests as god and serves them and takes care of them as if they are a part and parcel of the family itself. Even though we dont have anything to eat, the guests are never left hungry and are always looked after by the members of the family. Elders and the respect for elders is a major component in Indian culture. Elders are the driving force for any family and hence the love and respect for elders comes from within and is not artificial. An

individual takes blessings from his elders by touching their feet. Elders drill and pass on the Indian culture within us as we grow. Last but not least, The greater Indian civilization was home to the largest of the four ancient urban civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, South Asia and China. It was not discovered until the 1920's. Most of its ruins, even its major cities, remain to be excavated. The ancient Indian Civilization script has not been deciphered. Many questions about the Indus people who created this highly complex culture remain unanswered, but other aspects of their society can be answered through various types of archaeological studies. Harappa was a city in the Indus civilization that flourished around 2600 to 1700 BCE in the western part of South Asia.The technology discovered by Indian civilization in the aspect mathematics, astronomy ,medical science and surgery, physics ,chemistry and the list goes on are really contributed to the development of Indian civilization. As a conclusion , Indian civilization is the most biggest region with a lot of questions and secrets which are still cannot answered by scientists and professionals and also consists of full of benefit values and always attracts the world views towards the Indian civilization.
