STEPHANIE NICHOLSON enters her second year as CDOs Head Coach. The 2012 softball season was Nicholson's first campaign as a Head Coach in which she led the Dorados to their second consecutive state championship, and Nicholson's first ever state championship as a head coach. Post-season honors for the 2012 season included being named Arizona Daily Star's 2012 Coach of the Year and coaching the Arizona Softball Coach's Association Division II All-Star Team. Nicholson graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 2001 where she was a three-sport athlete lettering in golf, basketball, and softball. Nicholson led Flowing Wells to back-to-back state softball championships in 1999 (4A) & 2000 (5A) as well as the 2001 Mohave Tournament Championship under Head Coach Armando Quiroz. She was named top defensive player two consecutive season, served as team captain her senior year, was an allregion honoree three straight years, nominated for the 2001 Tucson Citizen Athlete of the Year award, was a 2001 preseason All-American by Student Sports Magazine, and placed third in the 1999 high school regional golf tournament. Nicholson played for the Arizona Alleycats ASA Fastpitch squad under former Arizona All-American and current Empire Head Coach Laura Espinoza-Watson. In the 2001 summer season, Nicholson batted .571 and led the Arizona Alleycats to the 2001 ASA 18u-A National Championship. Nicholson began her collegiate softball career starting at 2nd base for the University of Washington Huskies before transferring to Oklahoma State University in 2002 where she became the Cowgirls starting shortstop. In 2003, Nicholson was named to the Big XII All-Tournament Team. In 2004, Nicholson was named to the North Texas Betlin Roundup All-Tournament team and led the team in triples (3), RBIs (27), Slugging % (0.443), BBs (35), On Base % (0.438), and Assists (76). As a senior in 2005, Nicholson hit a career high 0.354, while leading the team in RBIs (45), doubles (19), Slugging % (0.697), On Base % (0.455), and Fielding % (0.972). During that same year, she set the OSU record and tied the NCAA record for doubles in a single game with 3, broke the OSU single season homerun record with 13, was named to the Tulsa Invitational All-Tournament team, the All Big XII 2nd Team, and experienced her 3rd regional appearance. Academically, Nicholson was awarded Deans Honor Roll (3x), Presidents Honor Roll (4x), Academic Big XII Honor Roll (6x), 1st Team Academic All Big XII (2x), 3-time OSU Academic Achievement Award recipient, USAA All-American Scholar, NFCA Scholar-Athlete (2x), and in 2005 was named to the ESPN Academic
All-District VI 2nd team and to the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar 1st team. During the off-season, Nicholson is the owner of Prodigy Performance Enhancement where she provides various services that enhances athletic performance such as therapeutic massage & body work, strength training, speed and power development, and biomechanical sports analysis for softball skill development. GALE BUNDRICK Bundrick has been coaching softball for well 30 years with many of those years serving as Canyon Del Oro's pitching coach. At least seven of Bundrick's pitchers at CDO went on to pitch at the Division I level. Bundrick has been one of Tucson's esteemed private pitching instructors since 1989 and served as The pitching coach of the University of Arizona in 2008. He retired from 26 years of work with Pima County Parks and Recreation in 2000, where he served in several positions including the natural resource superintendent and the director of the department. A long-time veteran of both playing and coaching fastpitch softball, Bundrick began pitching for men's fast pitch teams in Southern Arizona in 1969 and would do so for the next 12 years. Later, he facilitated the startup of the first ASA 14-U softball team in Tucson - the Cats organization which is still running today. Born in Miami, Arizona, Bundrick grew up in Coolidge before going on to The University of Arizona, where he lettered in football as a linebacker. Gale and his wife Carla have been married for 45 years. The couple has three grown children, Christa, Brian and Brandi and they enjoy eight grandchildren. His daughter Brandi played softball at CDO and San Diego State, while Brian is a former Miami (Fla.) baseball player. KEVIN GLYNN Hello, my name is Kevin Glynn. I moved to Tucson from California with my beautiful wife Kym and our first daughter Korri in 1982. I went into business with the owner of a masonry company at age 22. My job was to motivate and bring up production, which worked very well for the next 28 years. We bought our first home in 1985 on the eastside, where little league was played down the street. I would go down to the park and show the kids how to field and hit. Someone suggested that I coach a team, I have been hooked ever since. I coached little league for 3 years until Kym started playing softball, so I coached her women's team, which was very challenging. After a couple of great seasons I escaped, or rather started coaching my daughter, Korri in little league softball. Our second daughter Kandice was born that same year. I started coaching a travel softball team in 1992 and a couple years later we played in a state championship game against the Cats coached by none other than our own Coach Bundrick and Coach Enterline. I did not like them very much at that time mostly because their team was so good. We moved to Oro Valley in 1995 and I started helping with the J.V. team at CDO. I was then asked to coach a Freshman team along side Dave Thatcher. Yes, Mr. Thatcher is a very good coach and together we had a couple great years. Then I was asked the big Question: Would I like to coach Varsity? which out loud I said, Yes but under my breath said, Wooooooooohooooooo. This was the same year I took over the Cats organization. We were very fortunate to bring this team to ASA Nationals for the next 7 years along with my daughter Kandice who I am very proud of. The last 13 years coaching varsity at CDO have been just as rewarding. I have learned so much from all the coaches I have coached with, but most of all it's the opportunity I get to teach great athletes about something I love - SOFTBALL. "Win the race." Coach Glynn SHAYNE LUGO enters his second year as CDO's assistant coach working primarily with the outfield defense Shayne is a 2012 graduate from Carrington College where he earned a diploma in Fitness Training under the tutelage of Head Coach Stephanie Nicholson. Lugo is also the owner of Speed Form Performance Personal Training where he coaches and trains high school athletes in speed and power development as well as all-around athletic performance enhancement for various sports and athletes. He holds a National Strength and Conditioning Personal Training Certification and is an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

LIFE IS LIKE A GRINDSTONE WHETHER IT GRINDS YOU DOWN OR POLISHES YOU UP, DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF.
But Blessed be the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8
