    INTRODUCTION: Retail Sector is the most booming sector in the Indian economy. Some of the biggest players of the world are going to enter into the industry soon. It is on the threshold of a big revolution after the IT sector. Although organized retail market is not so strong as of now, but it is expected to grow manifolds by the year 2010. The scope of the Indian retail market is immense for this sector is poised for the highest growth in the next 5 years. The India retail industry contributes 10% of the countries GDP and its current growth rate is 8.5%. The organized retailing sector in India is only 3% and is expected to rise to 25- 30% by the year 2010. There are under construction at present around 325 departmental stores, 300 new malls, and 1500 supermarkets. This proves that there is a tremendous scope for growth in the Indian retail market. The growth of scope in the Indian retail market is mainly due to the change in the consumers behavior. For the new generation have preference towards luxury commodities which have been due to the strong increase in income, changing lifestyle, and demographic patterns which are favorable OR OTHER DETERMINANTS OF DEMAND .

    Judging the scope for growth in the India retail industry many global retail giants are also entering the Indian retail market. They are :

    Now in this age retailing sector are increasing at highest rate as above mentioned, By 2010 Retailing sector is expected to rise to 25- 30% in Chhattishgarh. Which will supplement the income of chhattishgarhs businessman, it will not only enhance GDP of CG but will also show the glamourous of our state from that many of people, tourist will interested to come to our state from them Chhattishgarhs people can earn lots of money. There are about 1 malls ie. City36 mall in Raipur, about 50 supermarket in Chhattishgarh. And there are about 50 malls, super market, departmental stores are under construction for eg. Treasure island in Bhilai, Megneta in Raipur etc. Which will employees about 1000 of person at good salaries after 2-3 years. The person who are doing their MBAs by retailing will have lots of scope. And will get placement at attractive salaries.

    The scope for growth in the Chhattishgarh retail market will be seen mainly in the following cities:

    Raipur Bilaspur Bhilai Durg Raigarh Ambikapur Jagdalpur

    The scope of the retail market in Chhattshgarh is very vast. And for it to reach its full potential the government and the Chhatishgarh retailers will have to make a determined effort.
