When these elements have been entered to create the PNR, an END TRANSACTION entry (ET) is made to file the record in the Amadeus Central System. When a PNR is filed in the system, it is assigned a 6-character code called record locator. The record locator is used to retrieve a previously created and filed PNRs. The PNRs remain active in the Amadeus system for three days after the date of last active or inactive segment in the itinerary. When creating a PNR you can enter the elements in any order. As the system accepts each element, it assigns it a number and places it in a proper sequence. All transactions preformed are listed in the history of the PNR.

When you create a PNR you can start with any of the four elements. In this case we will start by booking the air segments. The entry to display an availability display from Riga to Nice the 19th of May around 08:

Name elements
A passenger name element consists of the family name, given name or initial, and title. You can enter up to nine names in a non-group PNR.A name can contain up to 60 characters. For pricing purposes, a name element can include a passenger type. The passenger types are: (CHD) Child ( 2 to 12 years of age) (INF) Infant ( up to 2 years in age) When creating a name element for an infant, you must include the passenger type, and the infant must be associated to an adult name- so infant is not counted as a separate passenger. In most cases no baggage is allowed for an infant. Do not use the CHD passenger type when entering a name for an unaccompanied minor.

Contact element
Every passenger in the PNR must be covered by a contact element. This enables you to contact passengers if changes occur to their itinerary, or to advise them of other important information. The contact element consists of the transaction code AP followed by a minimum of one and maximum of 90 characters of free flow text. A PNR can have up to 127 contact elements. The received from element identifies the person making or modifying a reservation. It is a freeflow text and you can enter a maximum of 69 characters. During PNR creation, the received from element is displayed as the second line in the PNR. After you end transaction, the received from element is no longer stored on the face of PNR, but moved to PNR history.

The retrieved PNR is different from the PNR during creation in four ways: 1. The received from field no longer appears in the PNR, but is transferred to PNR history. 2. Information tags, in this case an RLRtag, is the first line of information. 3. The header line includes additional information. 4. The itinerary elements indicates *1A/, for flights that were booked using Amadeus Access, and the letter E, if the flight segment is eligible for electronic ticketing.
Multiple entries
As you noticed when entering separate elements, the system performs clear screen after each element entry and makes an automatic retrieval of the PNR under creation. Hotel and car elements must be entered separately, one by one. All the other PNR elements can be entered in a single transaction in two ways: On separate lines as in alternative 1 below

AO B RIX 3314 3820 is rejected because the transaction code is incorrect. However, the other entries were accepted. You must re-enter the rejected element again in the correct format. If you re-enter the elements not included in the message, the system creates duplicate elements in the PNR.

Ignore Transaction
You can ignore a PNR at any time during creation or modification. When you ignore a PNR during creation, all elements are ignored, and any flight, hotel or car bookings are returned to inventory. The entry is:

If you use the ignore transaction when modifying an existing PNR, the system ignores the updates, returns the PNR to its original form, and files it in the system. The system response automatically displays the PNR record locator after the ignored message. For example
