I. Rationale:

To be aware and knowledgeable about the history, background and problems of Barangay Libjo Batangas City.

Introduction:

In the time of Spaniards , when this Barangay didnt have its own chosen name and the means of transportation used is just a simple cart and it is also used by the people here in their daily living especially in their working field.

The carrier of the cart is very careful in using it. Because if the back will be heavier, the cart will become salambaw,if the front will become heavier against the back, the cart will become liblib.

One day, a Spanish general went to this area and chose to ride on a cart. The person carrying the cart asks him to go at the front part of the cart and then the general ask the man about the name of that place.

Assuming that the general was asking about in what part of the cart he is sitting the man answered him liblib ho. So after that the general thought that the name of the place is Liblib ho. Just because He is a well known and high official Spaniard General, maybe this is the name he denotes to this place.

This is what the people here call this place. And as time goes by, they shorten the name and had been transferred from generation to generation until the place has been known to be Libjo Nowadays, this place or this barangay is still well known as Barangay Libjo.

Statement of the Problems:

Barangay Libjo just like other barangay has its own problems and difficulties namely:

Unemployment Street lighting of some sitios Water system for isolated sitios Illegal parking of vehicles Drainage and canal were clogged Dike for Sitio Lamao and San Vicente Old
