The audience will get chance to participate in the judging of the contest and the competitions will be hosted by our lively compres, including Tony Wardle (Viva!), Karin Ridgers (VeggieVision TV) and Tony Bishop-Weston (Foods For Life). We all love a burger! And lets face it, ever since anyone went veggie or vegan, we all know there lies within a secret hankering for a decent banger too. So now, here we have it at last - the great Veggie Sausage and Burger competition, where the leading brands pit their flavours, textures and tastes in a head to head competition where you, the visitor decides the winner! The format is simple - plates of samples will be laid out for visitors to taste, who will then be given the opportunity to vote for their fave sausage or burger. The sausage competition is on Saturday 17th at 1.30pm and the burger competition is on Sunday, also at 1.30pm. If you are new to the veggie lifestyle then this presents a perfect opportunity to come and try the best of the burgers and bangers for free and make your own mind up as to whether you could get used to a veggie option or not! And if you are already veggie or vegan then you can have plenty of fun deciding which of these leading brands deserves the peoples vote for the much sought-after title of the VegfestUK Brighton Best Veggie Sausage

Tony Wardle (Viva!) - Saving the world with your knife and fork
Tony Wardle of Viva! investigates the state of the global environment and finds it at crisis point. Global warming is blinding us to the other ecological disasters that threaten our future. Forests are disappearing faster than ever, deserts are spreading and soil degrading, species extinction is epidemic, nitrogen pollution is growing and antibiotic-resistant micro-organisms are already killing millions as superbugs flourish. And, yes, the most immediately threatening of them all is global warming. The common thread is livestock production for meat and dairy and a political obsession with constant growth. www.tonywardle.co.uk
