DOMINUS EST! (It is the Lord!)

This spiritual journey is based on the experience of Jesus’ disciples after
the passion and death of our Lord. A series of Jesus’ resurrection
stories gradually unfolds. This is the third resurrection appearance of
Jesus. His friends were talking about it. Confusion arises. Amazement
follows. Even people who are not within Jesus’ circle of friends
discover this mysterious yet marvelous event – someone is raised from
the dead through his own power.

From the point of view of Saint John, the beloved apostle and the
author of this story, we will draw out the objectives for the young
people who continue to seek Jesus and are regarded as the “now” of
the Synodal Church.

Hesukristo.

Guided by these objectives, we will continue with our life’s journey to

know, to love, and to serve the Lord who calls us to holiness even in
the smallest task that we do.

The Gospel story from John 21:1-19 are divided into four (4) sessions
in this spiritual journey. Let us be with the disciples as they experience
the appearance of Jesus after he offered his life for all of us even before
we were born.
4

Session 1: Returning to Our Old Way s

1
Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias;
and he showed himself in this
way. 2 Gathered there together were
Simon Peter, Thomas called the
Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee,
the sons of Zebedee, and two others
of his disciples. 3 Simon Peter said to
them, “I am going fishing.” They said
to him, “We will go with you.”

Session Key Points

_____

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. When are the moments where we choose to go back to our old
ways when things get rough and we result in doubting?
(Kailan ‘yung parang umaatras tayo kapag hindi okay ang
nangyayari?)
2. What realities in life have you experienced where you feel like
“this is hard to accept”?
(Ano ang mga moments na ‘mahirap tanggapin’ para sa akin?)
3. How were you able to find a light in this situation? Were there
people who helped during this/these moment/s? (Paano ka
naliwanagan sa nangyaring iyon? May mga tao bang tumulong
sa iyo?)

Session 2: From Nothingness in the Night to Fullness of

Light
They went out and got into the boat;
but that night they caught nothing.
4
Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on
the beach; yet the disciples did not know
that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them,
“Children, have you any fish?” They
answered him, “No.” 6 He said to them,
“Cast the net on the right side of the
boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were
not able to haul it in, for the quantity of fish. 7 That disciple whom
Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”

When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his clothes,
for he was stripped for work, and sprang into the sea. 8 But the
other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for
they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.
9
When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with
fish lying on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the
fish that you have just caught.”

11
So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled
the net ashore, full of large fish, a hundred
and fifty-three of them; and although
there were so many, the net was not
torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and
have breakfast.” Now none of the
disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?”
They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came
and took the bread and gave it to them,
and so with the fish. 14 This was now the
third time that Jesus was revealed to the
disciples after he was raised from the
dead.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Recall a moment of emptiness and weariness.
a) Am I still at that moment? In what ways will I be able
to overcome these moments of emptiness (Paano ko kaya ito
malalampasan?)
---------- OR ----------

b) Was I able to overcome it? How did I overcome it?

2. Recall a specific moment in your life when you felt that God is present
there. (Balikan ang isang pangyayari sa iyong buhay na magsasabing
“Naroon ang Panginoon!”)

Session 3: Yes, You Know That I Love You!

15
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to
him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed
my lambs.” 16 A second time he said to him, “Simon, son of John,
do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love
you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” 17 He said to him the third
time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved
because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he
said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love
you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.

Activity 3.1 – WHO DO I LOVE?

10

Activity 3.2 – Love Letter of God to Me

11

Session 4: Lead me where I do not want t o go

18
Very truly, I tell you, when
you were younger, you used
to fasten your own belt and
to go wherever you wished.
But when you grow old, you
will stretch out your hands,
and someone else will fasten
a belt around you and take
you where you do not wish to
go.” 19(Jesus said this to
indicate the kind of death by
which Peter would glorify
God.) After this Jesus said to
him, “Follow me.”

Activity 4 – Facing My Courage Zone

1. You will be given a piece of paper with
a printed boat in it.
2. Write your name inside the sail.
3. Listen to the question. In silence,
answer it with “Yes” or “No” or “Not yet”
or “Maybe”.
4. Be honest with your answer and take
few moments for your private prayer.
5. May God always be with your journey!

LIVING IN THE MOMENT KUMPAS

Jason Mraz Moira dela Torre

If this life is one act, Pa'no bang mababawi

Why do we lay all these traps? Lahat ng mga nasabi? Hmm..
We put them right in our path Di naman inakalang ika'y
When we just wanna be free. darating lang bigla ng walang babala
I will not waste my days, Sa isang iglap, nagbago ang lahat
Making up all kinds of ways Hindi ko na kaya pa na magpanggap.
To worry 'bout all the things
That will not happen to me. Ikaw ang kumpas pag naliligaw.
So I just let go of what I know I don't Ikaw ang kulay sa langit na bughaw.
know Sa bawat bagyo na dumadayo,
And I know I'll only do this by Ikaw ang kanlungan na kailangan ko.
Kahit hindi mo alam,
**Living in the moment, living my life Ilang beses mo akong niligtas.
Easy and breezy, with peace in my mind Ikaw ang hantungan at aking wakas.
With peace in my heart, peace in my soul
Wherever I'm going, I'm already home. Pa'nong maniniwala
Living in the moment. Ika'y nasa 'king harapan? Hmm…
'Di naman naiplano
I'm letting myself off ako'y mabihag ng gan'to
the hook for things I've done Totoo ba ito, sa isang iglap, nagbago
I let my past go past ako
And now I'm having more fun. Hindi ko na kayang mawalay sayo.
I'm letting go of the thoughts
That do not make me strong Ikaw ang kumpas 'pag naliligaw.
And I believe this way Ikaw ang kulay sa langit na bughaw.
can be the same for everyone Sa bawat bagyo na dumadayo,
And if I fall asleep I know you'll be the Ikaw ang kanlungan na kailangan ko.
one who'll always remind me Kahit hindi mo alam,
Ilang beses mo akong niligtas.
To live in the moment, To living my life Ikaw ang hantungan at aking wakas…
Easy and breezy, with peace in my mind
Sana'y iyong matanggap
With peace in my heart,
kung sino ako talaga.
with peace in my soul
Wherever I'm going, I'm already home Ikaw 'yung kumpas no'ng naliligaw.
Naging kulay ka sa langit na bughaw.
I can't walk through life facing backwards Sa bawat bagyo na dumayo,
I have tried, I've tried more than once Ikaw 'yung kanlungan na nahanap ko.
to just make sure. And I was denied
Kahit no'ng 'di ko alam,
the future I'd been searching for,
ilang beses mo akong niligtas
I spun around and hurt no more!
Ikaw ang hantungan at aking wakas.

COUNT ON ME SOME DAYS

Bruno Mars Brent Morgan

If you ever find yourself stuck Some days I feel I'd make a good sunset.
in the middle of the sea, Some days I just don't wanna' give up yet.
I'll sail the world to find you. Some days it's hard to breathe.
If you ever find yourself lost Some days I'm over being me.
in the dark and you can't see, Some days, some days, some days.
I'll be the light to guide you.
Find out what we're made of Some days I try my best to seem happy.
when we are called Some days this place seems
to help our friends in need better off without me.
Some days I'm overwhelmed.
Refrain: Some days I'm lost inside this hell.
You can count on me Some days, some days, some days.
like one, two, three, I'll be there.
And I know when I need it, Some days I wonder what it's like
I can count on you like four, three, to live an ordinary life
two, you'll be there. Maybe I won't feel this way some day.
'Cause that's what friends are
supposed to do, oh yeah, wooh ooh, Some days I feel like everyone hates me.
yeah, yeah. Some days I question,
“Why would God create me?”
If you're tossin` and you're turnin' Some days I'm holding strong.
and you just can't fall asleep, Some days I'm barely hanging on.
I'll sing a song beside you. Some days, some days, some days.
And if you ever forget how much
you really mean to me, Some days I wonder what it's like
Everyday I will remind you...oh to live an ordinary life.
Find out what we're made of Maybe I won't feel this way some day.
when we are called
to help our friends in need. Some days I wonder what it's like
(Refrain) to live an ordinary life.
Maybe I won't feel this way some day.
You'll always have my shoulder
when you cry…
I'll never let go, never say goodbye…
You know, you can…
(Refrain)

You can count on me

'cause I can count on you…
