Chapter 1

INTRODUCTION

Technology integration in teaching has become increasingly important in today’s

education system, including in Montessori Heights Christian School Inc. It is not just a

matter of keeping up with the times. But rather a necessity for preparing students for

their future careers and allowing them to thrive in an ever-evolving technological

landscape.

Incorporating technology in the classroom can enhance the teaching and learning

experience for both teachers and students. Teachers can use various technological

tools such as digital textbooks, educational apps, interactive whiteboards, and virtual

simulations to make their lessons more engaging, interactive, and personalized. These

tools can help teachers to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of their

students.

Moreover, technology integration can promote collaboration and communication among

students, allowing them to work together on projects and assignments, share ideas, and

provide feedback. It can also help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving

skills by providing them with access to real-world scenarios and data.

In Montessori Heights Christian School Inc., where the Montessori method is employed,

technology can also be used to supplement traditional Montessori materials and

methods. For example, technology can be used to provide students with virtual

manipulatives and interactive activities that complement Montessori materials and

activities.

In conclusion, technology integration in teaching is crucial for preparing students for the

future, enhancing teaching and learning, promoting collaboration and communication,

and supplementing traditional Montessori materials and methods. Therefor, it is

essential for teachers in Montessori Heights Christian School Inc. to incorporate

technology in their teaching strategies to help their students reach their full potential.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Technology integration in teaching has clearly become important because of its

convenience. It helps the teachers do their jobs easily and perfectly just by typing it.

Technology empowers the teachers of Montessori Heights Christian School Inc. to

develop a creative way of teaching to the educators.

The importance of technology become a top priority that it cannot be ignored in school.

It has become easier for both students and teachers to convey and for the students to

learn it. The usage of technology in school has made the process of teaching easier and

enjoyable.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of technology

integration in the teaching strategy of teachers at Montessori Heights Christian School

Inc. Specifically, the study aims to explore the following research question:

1. How do teachers in Public and Private schools currently integrate technology into

their teaching strategies?

2. What are the perceived benefits and challenges of technology integration in the

teaching strategies of teachers in Public and Private schools?

3. How can teachers from Public and Private schools further support their teachers in

integrating technology into their teaching strategies?

4. How important is technology to teachers, when it comes to their teaching strategy?

5. Can teachers of Public and Private school help their students think and learn more

deeply using technology in their teaching strategies?

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Technology has a lot of examples such as Internet, Cellphones, Gadgets, Computers,

and more. It can also be a big help to everyone because of its capabilities and

advantages. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims

of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the

human environment. We also have lots of teaching strategies or teaching styles such as

using visuals in a traditional way or the use of technology in teaching. Teaching is the

concept of sharing information, experiences, and knowledge. It is organized with a

discipline it is a taught by and authority.

This research was based on the study of Royce Kimmons (2020) Technology can help

the constructivist learning process by making abstract concepts and facts more

grounded in personal experiences and the values of learners and also allowing the

learning experience to be differentiated for individual learners (e.g., through

personalized developmentally-appropriate software).

He stated in this study that Technology can help teachers both public and private in

many different ways. Using technology in teaching strategies can help the students

learn more and also allowing them to have fun and have different learning experience

while learning.

ASSUMPTIONS AND HYPOTHESIS

Assumptions

Technology has lots of advantages to students and teachers. Except for the fact that

Technology Integration can help the students in their everyday life in schools, a student

can also learn even if the teachers are absent. They can do a self study anytime and

anywhere. It can also be a big help to enhance the pupil’s learning experiences in

school.

Hypothesis

The hypothesis of this study is that the students will get more interested in learning.

They will be more engaged and will put their attention in the study because of the

creative visuals the teacher made. Integrating simple but creative power points,

presentations, games, etc. can make a big difference in the students’ growth in the

classroom. Using Technology Integration in teaching can also help them find the

information that they needed quickly and accurately. Technology can also

accommodate multiple learning styles such as creative visuals, etc. It can also be a big

help to prepare for the student’s future.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The focus of this topic is to analyze the importance of technology integration in the

teaching strategy of both public and private schools. It includes the benefits of using

technology in the classroom, the challenges and limitations of integrating technology,

and the different ways technology can be used in teaching. This topic also covers the

differences in technology integration between public and private schools and how

teachers can effectively integrate technology into their teaching strategy regardless of

the school setting. The study will only cover the current state of technology integration in

public and private schools as of the knowledge cutoff of September 2021, and may not

reflect any recent developments or changes in technology integration.

Using technology also have its limitations. Even though Technology can be a big help to

students and teachers both public and private schools, it also have limitations when you

use it for a long time. Technology can make less face time interactions. Even though we

are more on technology integration in teaching right now, we still have to have a face

time interactions with the students to maintain the relationship with them. Plus,

technology can be a distraction to the students. In this reason, we must limit and put

boundaries in using technology integration in teaching. Even though teachers from

public and private schools are given a chance to use technology in their teaching

strategies, we must be balance and we must have a limit to avoid health issues for

staring to the computer or laptop for so long.
