Introduction to Odoo ERP

What is Odoo?
Odoo is a powerful ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software that integrates various business
processes and modules to streamline business operations. It provides modules for Sales, CRM,
Inventory, Human Resources, Accounting, and more.

LOGGING IN
To log in to PMH Odoo platform, insert the following URL into your preferred web browser:

my.pandyahospital.org

This will open the landing page of the hospital. Click on the ‘sign in’ option at the top right of the
page and enter your credentials to access the main dashboard.

1. Getting Started with the Discuss Module

1.1. Accessing the Discuss Module


To access the Discuss module, log in to your Odoo account, and click on the "Discuss" icon on the
main dashboard. This will take you to the Discuss module.

2. Creating Channels

2.1. Adding a New Channel


To create a new channel, click on the "+" button in the Channels section, provide a name and
description for the channel, and select the appropriate access settings.

1.1. Managing Channel Members

Add or remove members from the channel as required. This can be done by clicking the third icon
on the top menu.

2. Sending Messages

2.1. Composing Messages


Compose messages in the channel by typing in the message box at the bottom of the channel
window and clicking "Send."

2.2. Attaching Files and Images

Attach files and images to messages for easy sharing with other channel members. This can be
done by clicking on the paperclip icon on the message box near the ‘send’ button.

3. Interacting with Messages


3.1. Reacting to Messages
React to messages with emojis to express your feelings or opinions on the content. Hover over any
message in the chat to react.

3.2. Replying to Messages


Reply to specific messages to create threaded conversations and keep discussions organized. Hover
over the specific message to respond.

3.3. Mentioning Users in Messages


Mention specific users in messages using "@username" to get their attention in a discussion.

4. Private Messages and Chats


4.1. Initiating Private Messages

Initiate private messages with individual users by clicking on their username, or simply by clicking
on the “+” icon on Direct Messages.

5. Linking with other modules


5.1. Linking Discuss with HR

Discuss module can be used by the HR to facilitate internal communication and announcements
through channels. A channel can be created (step 2.1) which can be used to send out all
announcements.

1. Getting Started with the Calendar Module


1.1.Accessing the Calendar Module
To access the Calendar module, log in to your Odoo account, and click on the "Calendar" icon on
the main dashboard. This will take you to the Calendar module.

2. Creating Events
2.1. Adding a New Event

To create a new event, click on the "Create" button in the Calendar module, provide a title and
description for the event, and specify the date and time.

2.2. Configuring Event Details

Customize event details such as location, duration, and event type. Invite participants to the event
by adding their email addresses. Participants will receive event invitations. (Refer to the image
below).

2.3.Sending Event Reminders
Set up event reminders for participants to ensure they are aware of the upcoming event.

3. Recurring Events
3.1. Creating Recurring Events

Set up recurring events for activities that happen regularly, such as weekly meetings or monthly
reviews. This can be done by checking the ‘recurrent’ box on the Options tab.

3.2. Modifying Recurring Event Instances

Modify individual instances of recurring events without affecting the entire series. This can be
done by changing the details of the specific meeting under the Meeting Details tab.

4. Viewing and Filtering Calendars
4.1.Team Calendar View
View team calendars to see the schedules of all team members and coordinate activities. This can
be done by checking the box next to “Everybody’s calendars”.

1. Getting Started with the Helpdesk Module


1.1.Accessing the Helpdesk Module
To access the Helpdesk module, log in to your Odoo account, and click on the "Helpdesk" icon on
the main dashboard. This will take you to the Helpdesk module.

2. Creating Helpdesk Tickets


2.1.Adding a New Ticket
To create a new helpdesk ticket, click on the "Create" button in the Helpdesk module, provide the
necessary details like ticket title, description, and customer information.

3. Managing Helpdesk Tickets


3.1.Ticket Prioritization
Prioritize tickets based on their urgency and impact on customers.

3.2.Tracking Ticket Status


Track the status of tickets through various stages, such as "New," "In Progress," "Resolved," etc.
The stages at the top right show the status of the ticket.

3.3.Adding Notes and Internal Discussions
Add notes and have internal discussions within the helpdesk ticket to collaborate and share
important information. This can be done by clicking the Send Message button on the specific
ticket.

4.1.Assigning Tickets to Teams
Assign tickets to specific support teams to ensure proper handling and resolution. The support
teams include ICT, Maintenance, and Housekeeping. The support team can be selected from the
dropdown menu under ‘Team’.
