The people below want to go to a restaurant. Read about each restaurant (A–E). Match the people

A La Dolce Vita
La Dolce Vita is a friendly new Italian restaurant in the centre of town. There are only five tables so it’s very
small. The food is traditional Italian food with lots of vegetables and fresh pasta, meat and fish and of
course delicious Italian ice-creams. Salvatore is the waiter and he helps you choose the best food and
drinks but he only speaks Italian! Three courses cost £20.
B Joe’s Snacks
Next to the railway station, this snack bar offers fantastic sandwiches and cakes. When you catch the train,
take some food with you. The beef and salad sandwich is delicious and Joe makes all the cakes so try a
piece of his chocolate cake!
C Burger Bar
Hamburgers and chips. When you don’t have much time, the Burger Bar is the place to go. You only wait
five minutes and then you have your meal. A good place to go before the cinema or after a day of
shopping with your friends.
D Organics
An old favourite for vegetarians. Open since 1980, this restaurant has the best vegetarian food in town.
Clare and Mike, the owners, grow all the vegetables in their garden so you know they’re really fresh and
healthy. Try their summer salads or their tomato soup and remember to have the strawberry ice-cream.

E Keiko’s
A new Japanese restaurant next to the library. Try the raw fish ‘sushi’ and have some rice – it comes with
a raw egg on it too and it’s fantastic. Everything looks beautiful and fresh. Traditional Japanese food is a
little strange to some people, but I’m sure you’ll love it.

Read this article for a school magazine. Now write about a famous person from the

past for your school magazine. Use the text about Michael Jackson to help you.
Michael Jackson was born on 29 August 1958 in the USA and he died at the age of fifty on 25 June 2009.
He was ‘the king of pop’ and his 1982 album Thriller sold more copies than any other album in the history
of pop music.
He had three sisters and six brothers (he was the 8th of the ten children) and he started singing with his
brothers in The Jackson 5. After a few years, he left the band and started singing on his own. He had 17
number one singles and several successful albums.
He was married twice and had three children.
