Ans.-Communication through spoken language and written forms can be called as verbal
communication. Verbal communication may be formal or informal. As for example, when
we talk to some officials, we have to follow certain formal modes of expression and
language. It is formal communication. But, we talk to or write to our friends or relatives
we do not follow such formalities. It is informal modes of communication.

Ans.- Communication through facial expression, body language, gestures, signs etc. can

Ans.- Miscommunication is the failure of proper communication. When a person can not
convey his ideas properly or the receiver cannot perceive the ideas corectly,
miscommunication takes place. The modes of communication, circumstances, ability of
the sender and receiver lead to miscommunication.

Q.7. Define Mass-communication. (5)


Ans,- Communication with a large nunber of people at a timne is called mass
communication. Mass-communication helps to build a society and itsculture. While an
awareness is shared through mass-media, important news are circulated through news
channels or newspapers, it is mass-communication. There are various modes of mass
communication like television, radio, prints (books, pamphlets, leaflets etc), Tecordings
(gramophone, cassettes, CDs, DVDs etc), internet, cinema etc.
Q.8. Diference between monologue & dialogue. (5)
Ans.- Monologue is basically a tool of drama. When a single speaker utters his own
thoughts and feelings alone on the stage, it is called monologue. Monologue helps to
understand a character's inner thoughts and feelings. It helps to realize a character's
personality.
But, dialogue is the verbal interaction between two persons. Through dialogue, anything
can be discussed, individual thoughts can be shared and understood. While in monologue,
a person's inner thoughts can be known, in dialogue it can be missed. Through dialogue, a
person can hide his real feelings.

Ans,- When a group of people discuss a topic in an organised way, in a professional or
academic context, it is called Group Discussion. As a participant in Group Discussion,
one must be aware of three things
