Summary
TCP Port Probe Utility for some commonly used Rockwell products
Question
How do I know which commonly used ports are open for my Rockwell Software?
Answer
The TCP Port Probe utility detects following port numbers:
For other port numbers that Rockwell Automation uses, please consult TCP and UDP Port
Configuration Quick Reference Guide, publication COMM-QR001.
Enter the IP address that you want to check and click the Probe button. Below is a screenshot of a 1756-ENBT IP
address probe.
As you can see current Ethernet hardware uses 44818 instead of the legacy 2222. The
above says that the 1756-ENBT module has its port 80 HTTP webpage open as well as
the 44818 which is used by the RSLinx Classic software and CIP communications.
If the connection is blocked for these ports you need to have your IT department
unblock them both for UDP and TCP packets.
For information on how to manually open TCP / UDP ports please refer to QA13110 - How to: Manually Open
TCP/UDP Ports.
