7A Relative clauses crossword
Instructions
You will need: one copy of the worksheet per pair

• Divide the class in half. Give a copy of Crossword A to each student in

group A and a copy of Crossword B to those in group B.
• Students work together in groups to check they know all the
meanings of the words on their half of the crossword. They can refer
to a dictionary if necessary.
• Pair one Student A with one Student B. They are not allowed to look
at each other’s crossword.
• Students take it in turns to define the words that appear on their
half of the crossword to their partner, using defining relative clauses
(It’s a place where …, This is a person who …, etc.). The partner has to
guess the words and write them in his/her own crossword.
• Students continue until they both have a completed version of the
crossword.
