Job description

Position Title: Lead Engineer – Electrical

Job Summary

As a Lead Engineer – Electrical, the professional will work in our Commerce, Chennai office
and remotely at project sites or other offices as needed to manage design projects to meet our
Client’s business needs. Seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer who is highly
motivate to join our team in Chennai. The successful candidate must have extensive
experience in executing projects for the Refining, Gas Transmission or Petrochemical
industries with the highest level of quality, cost effectiveness, and a focus on safety. The
successful candidate will work with licensed engineers from US and experienced designers to
design power distribution, motor control, and lighting systems for industrial facilities. The
candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with other
engineering disciplines, sometimes across multiple offices.

Responsibilities
 Power distribution and calculations for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
including: switchboards, panel boards, transformers, wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill,
cable tray sizing
 Emergency power system design and specification
 Interior and exterior lighting design
 Preparation of design criteria, specifications, one line diagrams and elementaries for
electrical equipment such as Motor Control Centers, VFDs and starters
 Perform fault current calculation, arc flash analysis and coordination studies. Circuit
protection device selection and coordination.
 Hazardous area classification analysis for electrical equipment
 Develop construction drawing packages and review vendor submittals.
 Prepare grounding and bonding plan
 Complete calculations using SKM and other analysis software and will use AutoCAD (MEP)
software to design facility electrical systems.
 Provides technical expertise to the organization and maintains strong client relationships.
 Provides mentorship to less experienced engineers.
 Assists in preparation of project schedules and estimates to define the project plan.

Requirements

 Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. 12+ years of relevant experience preferred.


 Able to lead the electrical design on a multi-discipline project
 Electrical analysis software familiarity (i.e. ETAP, SKM).
 Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code Standards
(NFPA/NEC)
 Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact
with management, clients, and vendors.
 Must also possess good general computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and
Outlook.

Education

 BE Electrical Engineering degree from premier institution required.

Experience

 Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. 12+ years of total experience preferred.

Senior Test Engineer – Product Development(VFD)

responsible for conducting, leading and coordinating the VFD testing activities throughout
the project. This role will be reporting to Senior Manager - QA & Testing. The preferred
candidate will have 6+ years of VFD testing experience in Global environment as part of
Product Development or Maintenance.

Skills

 Minimum 6+ years of VFD testing experience in Product Development function


 Experience in various Test Management tools like ALM, RQM, Polarion etc.
 Experience in various Defect Management tools like ClearQuest, Merant etc.
 Experience in using Test Equipments like Oscilloscope, Power Analyzer, etc.,
 In-depth knowledge of Hardware Development Process and Software Development
Lifecycle.
 Knowledge of VFD Hardware, Software and VFD Applications in different industry
 Knowledge of UL508C & UL61800-5-1 standards.
 Able to lead small test teams

Tasks

 Conducting VFD Performance Testing to ensure reliability.


 Develop Performance Test Plans and Test Cases.
 Analyze the Test Results and Co-ordinate with Development teams for fixing the
issues
 Estimation of test efforts
 Reviews of various Test deliverables
 Reviews of Requirements and other relevant documents
 Setup and Maintain Test infrastructure
 Publish & Maintain Test reports and dashboard
 Ensure adherence to QA processes & various test management tools
 Sign-off and approval of test deliverables
