    Coolant Composition

    Water cannot be used alone in cooling systems; nevertheless it can be the base of a mix
    that can comply with systems requirements.
    The base of all automotive coolant liquids is a mix of water, ethylene glycol and inhibitor
    package.

    Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG)

    The quality characteristics of MEG are defined by international standards

    ● The Ethylene glycol, also called monoethylene glycol (MEG)


    part of them are heat transfers applications where antifreeze
    features are mandatory.

    ● Ethylene glycol is completely miscible in water, in its pure form


    it is odorless; it is colorless, syrupy with a sweet taste.

    ● Most automobile manufacturers recommend a glycol


    concentration between 40% and 50%.

    ● These concentrations provide optimum thermal conductivity,


    boiling, freezing and corrosion protection.

    ● Secure from freezing.

    Additives or Inhibitors
    1. INORGANIC STD technology Contains inhibitor package free of nitrites, amines and phosphates.
    => Mostly recommended for older engines and technologies.

    2. HYBRID (G11) technology Contains hybrid inhibitor package formulated with inorganic, organic
    salts and silicates. Free of nitrites, amines and phosphates.
    The hybrid inhibitor package ensures high corrosion protection of
    cylinders, heads, radiators and pumps.
    => Especially suited for quite old motor cars models.
    Fully compatible with other similarly formulated engine coolants.

    3. ORGANIC (G12) technology With biodegradable, organic inhibitor package technology (OAT).
    Free of nitrites, amines, phosphates, silicates and borates.
    The organic inhibitor package ensures high corrosion protection of
    engine components, cylinders, heads, and pumps.
    => Suitable for all modern engines, especially those made of
    aluminium. Fully compatible with other similarly formulated engine
    coolants (OAT).

    4. HYBRID HD technology Contains hybrid inhibitor package formulated with nitrites, organic
    salts and silicates. Free of amine and phosphates.
    Preserves for long time all the engine components protecting all
    metals, including aluminium, from corrosion. Do not mix with OAT
    coolants or without silicate ones.
    => Suitable for commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, especially
    intended for Heavy Duty applications

    Additives or Inhibitors
    5. SI-OAT (G12 ++) technology High performance coolant formulated with a new generation
    inhibitor package that combines the benefits offered by organic
    inhibitors with the benefits of silicates (Si-OAT technology) to provide
    high performance and long-life applications. It does not contain
    nitrites, amines and phosphates. Its specific formulation provides
    long time corrosion protection to all engine system metals, especially
    aluminium alloys and light metals.
    => Suitable for all modern engines, especially those made of
    aluminium.

    6. SI-OAT + GLYCEROL (G13) technology Same properties as G12++ (organic + silicates) but with glycerine on
    top (20% max).
    => Suitable for all modern engines high speed, especially those made
    of aluminium.

    Why correct specification is mandatory ?

    In a warm climate, where freezing is not an issue and where cooling


    the engine in key, it is possible to drop the coolant concentration
    down to 25 % to gain in cooling capacity, nevertheless it may affect
    the corrosion level in the system.

    Decreasing the glycol concentration would degrade the inhibitors


    protection level and lower the boiling point.
