Important Information (For All PG New Joinees of 2023)

The 2nd Phase of the Online Proficiency Test for the first semester students enrolled in Postgraduate
Programs at the Noida, Lucknow, and Greater Noida Campuses of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, for
the academic session 2023-2024, will take place from August 26, 2023 (Saturday) at 00:01 AM until
September 2, 2023 (Saturday) at 11:59 PM. Following this period, the online Proficiency Test will no longer
be accessible for all new admissions into the Postgraduate programs of the academic session 2023-2024.

Dear Students,

1. The Academic Session 2023-2024 for first-year students admitted into Postgraduate programmes has
commenced from 7th August 2023 (Monday). Furthermore, regular classes for students in their first semester
of Postgraduate programs commenced on August 11, 2023 (Friday).

2. Kindly refer the consistent correspondences from AUUP, which have been disseminated through emails,
WhatsApp Groups, as well as verbal notifications and announcements throughout your Orientation Program.
The first stage of the PG Proficiency Test took place from August 2, 2023 (Wednesday) at 00:01 AM to
August 10, 2023 (Thursday) at 11:59 PM.

3. Following that, the AUUP Noida, Lucknow, and Greater Noida Campuses organized Bridge Course sessions
for the PG newcomers who attained a score below 60% in any of the Area Specific Sections/Subjects during
the initial phase of the PG Proficiency Test, which took place from August 2, 2023, to August 10, 2023. These
Bridge Course classes were held from August 11, 2023 (Friday) to August 19, 2023 (Saturday).

4. Further, the “English Communication” skills and “IT Application” skills of the concerned PG New Joinees
i.e. who have secured less than 60% score in any of the Common Subjects/Sections of Proficiency Test are
being improved by the institutions through inbuilt assignments of various courses during 1st Semester.

5. As per our previous communication to you, the 2nd Phase of online Proficiency Test for following PG
New Joinees is live on the same online portal i.e. https://assessment.amizone.net from 26-08-2023
(Saturday) 00:01 A.M. to 02-09-2023 (Saturday) 11:59 P.M.:

(i) Who secured less than 60% marks in any of the Area Specific Section/Subject of Proficiency Test
during conduct of 1st Phase of Proficiency Test that held from 02-08-2023 (Wed) 00:01 A.M. to 10-
08-2023 (Thu) 11:59 P.M., and thereafter their institution created online Group(s) and Set the Time
Table for such students on Bridge Courses-> Timetable link, and such students attended the online
published classes of Bridge Course(s) held from 11-08-2023 (Friday) to 19-08-2023 (Saturday), and
finally such students got the online attendance for the attended Bridge Course classes.

(ii) Who have secured less than 60% marks in any of the Common Section/Subject of Proficiency Test
i.e. English Communication/ IT Application during conduct of 1st Phase of Proficiency Test that
held from 02-08-2023 (Wednesday) 00:01 A.M. to 10-08-2023 (Thursday) 11:59 P.M, and thereafter
the institutions gave them inbuilt assignments to improve their skills.

(iii) Who couldn’t appear in 1st Phase of Proficiency Test due to any reason.

6. Please note that all such PG New Joinees who have already secured minimum 60% score in each five
subjects/sections of 1st Phase of Proficiency Test 2023 held from 02-08-2023 (Wednesday) 00:01 A.M.
to 10-08-2023 (Thursday) 11:59 P.M., need not to appear in the 2nd Phase of online Proficiency Test
2023.
7. In case of any technical issue, please write to proficiencytest@amity.edu before closing of 2nd Phase of
Proficiency Test i.e. before 11:59 P.M. 2nd September 2023 (Saturday), so that an immediate resolution may
be provided to concerned students, because the date and time of Proficiency Test will not be extended, and
after 11:59 P.M. of 2nd September 2023 (Saturday), the online proficiency test will be closed for all New
Joinees of Postgraduate programmes of Academic Session 2023-2024.

8. The New Joinees of Postgraduate programmes of Academic Session 2023 of AUUP Noida, Lucknow,
and Greater Noida campuses, who are appearing 1st time in the online Proficiency Test, are advised to
go through the following important points for having a better experience of online Proficiency Test:

9. An online Proficiency Test with a duration of two (02) hours is conducted for the New Joinees. It comprises
100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with 20 MCQs allocated to each of the 5 Sections. The 1st Phase
of online Proficiency Test has taken place from 02-08-2023 (Wednesday) 00:01 A.M. to 10-08-2023
(Thursday) 11:59 P.M. The purpose of this test is to assess your academic preparedness for the programme
in which you are enrolled. Based on the test results, a bridge course is planned to support your academic
progress.

Based on the results (marks below 60%) of the Proficiency Test, Bridge

Course Classes have been conducted for PG students in the evening, from
19-08-2023 (Sat)
3:15 pm to 6:10 pm, for three (03) hours daily. Additionally, on Saturdays,
(03:15 p.m. to 06:10 p.m.)
there were six (06) classes throughout the day, starting from 14-08-2023
(Mon) until 19-08-2023 (Sat), with a maximum duration of one week.
Proficiency Test - 2nd Phase

Upon completing the Bridge Course Classes, this is intended for
A.M. to 02-09-2023 (Sat)
students who were unable to pass or participate in the Proficiency Test
11:59 P.M. = 08 Days
during the 1st Phase.

10. There are total five (05) sections/subjects in every Online Proficiency Test, out of which two (02)
sections/subjects are considered 'Common,' namely "English Communication" and "IT Application."
The remaining three (03) sections/subjects of the Proficiency Tests are referred to as "Area-Specific
Sections/Subjects."

11. Each multiple-choice question (MCQ) is accompanied by four (4) answer options, out of which only one
option is the correct answer. The student must select the correct answer by ticking the corresponding option
to earn marks. There will be no negative marking.

12. The difficulty level of all five (05) sections/subjects (comprising two common subjects and three area-
specific subjects) in the online Proficiency Test is determined by the 'Eligibility Criteria' of the
programme(s) in which students have enrolled at Amity University Uttar Pradesh.

13. The essential/required/main subjects of ‘Eligibility Criteria’ of the Programme(s) in which students have
taken admission at Amity/ OR the main/core subjects studied by the students in their immediate previous
Degree/Diploma/Certificate Programme will be the “Area Specific Sections/Subjects” of Proficiency Test.
The two (02) Common Subjects “English Communication” and “IT Application” will also be of the same
level, i.e. for the students of Undergraduate Programmes, the level of MCQs of Proficiency Test will be
of 12th Class (+2) standard, while for the students of Postgraduate Programmes, the level of MCQs of
Proficiency Test will be of Undergraduate standard.

14. Depending on the 'Eligibility Criteria' applicable for the admission to the Programme(s), separate online
Proficiency Tests are designed for Engineering and Non-Engineering Postgraduate (PG) and
Undergraduate (UG) students.

15. The difficulty level of the Common Subject "IT Application" varies between Postgraduate and
Undergraduate students in the "Engineering" and "Non-Engineering" programs, respectively. The difficulty
level of "IT Application" is slightly lower for students admitted into Non-Engineering Programs of the
University compared to those admitted into Engineering Programs.

16. The Registration and Orientation Information Page provides comprehensive details about the
subjects/sections of the Proficiency Test, essential pre-reads such as textbooks and study materials for
the test preparation, and a collection of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the Proficiency
Test. Students can access this page through two routes: firstly, by visiting 'Student Amizone' and
navigating to the 'Orientation' tab located on the top left-hand side, and secondly, by accessing the
'Admission Microsite' and selecting the 'Orientation Information' section.

17. Students are advised to review the Steps, Guidelines, and FAQs before taking the Proficiency Test. If
you cannot access the Study Material (Pre-reads), please contact your Programme Leader (PL) immediately.
The PL's details are already available on the Registration and Orientation Information Page.

18. Please be informed that the Date and Time for the Proficiency Test will not be extended beyond the specified
dates and timings. Therefore, students are advised to complete the test within the designated time, which is
from 26-08-2023 (Saturday) 00:01 A.M. to 02-09-2023 (Saturday) 11:59 P.M. Students have the flexibility
to take the online Proficiency Test at any time (24x7) during the announced dates and time as per their
convenience.

19. For a superior online proficiency test experience, we recommend using a laptop, desktop, MacBook,
iPad, or tablet. Please refrain from using mobile phones to take the online proficiency test, as they may
lead to issues such as lag or slow performance during the test.

20. The URL for logging into the online Proficiency Test is https://assessment.amizone.net. This link has
become active for the concerned New Joinees of Postgraduate programmes from 00:01 A.M. 26th August
2023 (Saturday) and it will automatically be closed at 11:59 P.M. on 02nd September 2023 (Saturday).

21. To access the test, simply type the URL https://assessment.amizone.net into your browser and click. Once
done, the following page will be displayed on your computer screen:
22. The online Proficiency Test will require the use of the 'Amizone ID' and its associated password, which will
be provided to New Joinees as their User Name and Password for accessing the test.

23. Please enter your User Name and Password, then click on the 'LOGIN' button. The following page will be
displayed, where you can click on 'To Attend' to crosscheck before attempting the online Proficiency Test.
Ensure that all 100 MCQs, divided into five sections/subjects with 20 MCQs each, are visible on your online
Proficiency Test page, as shown in the screenshot below:

24. If you cannot see all 100 MCQs online, please write to proficiencytest@amity.edu immediately. Mention
the following details to facilitate a quick resolution of your issue:
• Your Name:
• Amizone ID:
• Provisional Enrolment Number:
• Program Name for which you have been selected by Amity:
• University Campus: Amity University Noida Campus/ Lucknow Campus/ Greater Noida Campus
• Your Mobile Number:
• Name of Section/Subject whose MCQ(s) is/are missing:

25. If all 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are visible to you, simply click on the 'Start' button to begin
your online Proficiency Test.

26. Please note that once you click on the 'Start' button, the online test will automatically close after two
hours. Therefore, click on the 'Start' button only when you are ready to begin the Proficiency Test.

27. After clicking on 'Start', the following online Proficiency Test Page will open, where a New Joinee must
mark his/her answers. The marked answer will automatically convert from Grey to Green colour as follows:
28. After completion of the Proficiency Test, click on the ‘Submit Quiz’ as shown below:

Online Test Page will ask you ‘Are You Sure?’, Click on ‘Yes’ as under:

Following online page will be displayed wherein you will see the message ‘NO Quiz Found’. Click on
‘Already Attended’ to know your Test Score as under:
Thereafter, click on ‘Result’ to know your Test Score as under:

The Subject-wise score in percentage (%) will be visible to you as under:

29. The results of the Proficiency Test will also be accessible to students on their Amizone accounts. They can
view their scores under the 'Proficiency Result' tab located in the left-hand side Menu Bar.

30. To pass the Proficiency Test, a minimum score of 60% is required in each subject/section of the online
assessment.

31. As network issues may arise at anytime and anywhere, the University has provided a 'RESET' facility
to students for their online Proficiency Test. Please note that the 'RESET' button will only appear on
the online test page if you have already taken the Proficiency Test.
After clicking on ‘RESET’, Amizone Asks ‘Are you sure to reset this quiz?’. Click on ‘OK’ to
‘RESET’ your online quiz as under:

Now, you can give your online Proficiency Test once again as a FRESH test as under:

32. Students can utilize the 'RESET' facility as per their requirements. After performing a 'RESET,' the
Proficiency Test will start afresh, giving the student another two hours to attempt the online test, beginning
from the initial stage. It is important to note that in the online Proficiency Test, Amizone will consider
the highest score obtained by the student.

33. Further, you will need to complete an Aspirational Survey on Amizone prior to commencement of classes.
The Aspirational Survey is to help us understand your career aspirations after completion of your degree at
Amity. You are advised to take this survey seriously so that the university may help you in a better manner
to achieve your career goals. In case of any query related to Aspirational Survey, please write

You are advised to complete both the online activities as per schedule given above.
