CONTENTS
The best time to visit Bali is between May-October. The weather is more favourable, cool,
and dry. However, this is also the peak tourist season, and you might find a lot of travellers
wherever you visit.
The cost of travelling largely depends upon the time of the year, accommodation preferences,
and commute choices. However, the average cost for a budget-friendly getaway can be $50-
70/day (INR 4,000-6,000).
BALI VISA
Indian passport holders can either apply for an eVISA or a Visa on Arrival to visit Indonesia.
Both allow Indian travellers to stay in the country up to 30 days. The process is simple and
straightforward, but we personally recommend everyone apply for eVISA to save time and
avoid waiting in two long queues.
Note: If you’re travelling for tourism purposes, specify the main purpose of your visit as
‘General, Family, or Social’ and specify ‘Tourism, Family Visit, and Transit’ in the sub
purpose category. Finally, you must select ‘B1 – Tourism (Visa on Arrival)’ option.
If you wish to apply for Visa on Arrival upon reaching Denpasar Airport, ensure that you
have hard copy of all the necessary documents, like return flight tickets, hotel bookings, and
2 passport size photographs.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Besides having a passport with more 6 months of validity, travellers also require the
following documents to clear immigration in Indonesia:
REACHING BALI
Travelling to Indonesia is convenient and hassle-free owing to the regular flight operations
from all major cities in India. You can find plenty of good airline carriers flying direct flights
or budget-friendly flights.
It is advisable to plan your trip and book return tickets to Bali at least 2 months prior the
departure date to claim better deals and pricing.
Staying connected in Bali is convenient as every hotel, restaurant, and café offers free WiFi.
Besides relying on the WiFi connectivity, you can also purchase an eSIM from Airalo. Use
PRAKRI0700 for a $3 credit.
Bali is one of the most tourist friendly islands and its neighbouring islands also boast the
same quality. From comfortable taxis to scooters to Gojek, you will find a suitable mode of
transportation almost everywhere.
Note: The general tariff for a 12-hour taxi hires ranges between 750K IDR to 1000K IDR
(~$46 – 60).
You must try to bargain for a better deal at the time of booking.
Scooter rentals
The most common and flexible way of commuting around Bali is on a scooter. Daily rentals
are affordable and give you the liberty to travel on your own pace.
Note: You do not require an International Driving Permit to rent a scooter in Bali, but it is
highly advisable to have the permit to avoid any unnecessary fines or penalties.
Don’t forget to bargain before hiring a scooter. Most rentals offer better deals on 2 day
rentals as opposed to single day hire.
Just like travelling to any other country, it is crucial to keep a few points in mind while
planning the trip:
