REITERATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MODULAR DISTANCE LEARNING AS


PROVIDED IN DEPED ORDER NO. 037, S. 2022

1. The field is hereby reminded on the enclosed OASOPS No. 2023 - 077 Memorandum from
Francis Cesar B. Bringas, Assistant Secretary for Operations, on the aforecited subject citing
DepEd Order No. 037, s. 2022 titled" Guidelines on the Cancellation or Suspension of Classes
and Work in Schools in the Event of Natural Disasters, Power Outages/Power Interruptions, and
Other Calamities".

2. Schoolheads/ OIC's due to the prevailing warrn and dry season, have the authority and
responsibility to suspend in-person classes and implement modular distance learning in cases of
unfavorable weather and environment such as, but not limited to, extremely high temperatures
which may considerably affect the conduct of classroom learning and put the learners' health and
well-being at risk.

3. Schools are reminded that face-to-face classes must, at all times be the default modality,
except on extreme cases. While Schoolheads have the authority over class programming, you are
reminded of your accountability with learning outcomes.

4. Teachers and students can wear more comfortable clothing aside from their regular
uniforms to reduce the heat they feel while inside the schools. As a reminder to all employees as
per Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 19, s. 2000 which strictly prohibits the
wearing of inappropriate clothing in the workplace, violation of which shall be considered a
ground for disciplinary action.

5. All schools are enjoined to submit Implementation Plan to the assigned Public Schools
District Supervisors for consolidation and the PSDS are enjoined to forward the consolidated
report to the OIC - ASDS for monitoring of classes.

6. Immediate dissemination and compliance of this Memorandum is desired.
