A Feasibility / Project Study on

The Portal: Envisioning Bataan Tourism through Utilizing Contemporary
Architecture on A Seaside Hotel and Resort Expo Center

Research Paradigm
 G.T. Moore’s design process was chosen by the researcher to illustrate the flow
of the research study in a diagrammatic format. This structure was specifically chosen
for it embodies the path that the researcher created to achieve the most favorable
outcome of the research study.

Methodology and Data Presentation

The chosen research approach for the study was a mixed-method approach in
which both qualitative and quantitative data are collected to provide the researcher the
necessary information needed to build the foundation of the study. In this chapter, the
researcher discusses the process of which the phases of the study will go through, in
order to attain the desired outcome of the project, and provide the best solution for the
research problems.

Methodology

The research was conducted to create a design solution for a seaside convention
and exhibition center, and to utilize the design to reinvent marine eco-tourism in Bataan.
The functionality, aesthetic, and environmental impact were also taken in consideration
to be part of the research objectives.

In order to achieve these objectives, the researcher opted to obtain the

perspective of the residents of Bataan and tourists in line with the aforementioned topic.
Specifically, a total of 100 respondents from different places within Bataan and across
the world were randomly selected to make up the sample. The selected participants
were provided a google form link to answer a questionnaire consisting of likert and
closed ended format questions for gathering of both quantitative and qualitative data.
The qualitative information gathered through this research instrument were analyzed and
synthesized to extract all necessary subjective information that can be utilized for the
design development. On the other hand, the quantitative information gathered was
computed and interpreted to support the qualitative structure of the project.
 In addition to the primary data collected and analyzed for the development of the
study, the researcher also utilized secondary sources of information through published
articles, journals, and existing studies that will help support the primary data gathered.

The accessibility of the beach to public, not all tourist has a acces in transportation so having
a better transportation or shuttle service for every resort or place in our beach will be a better
alternative so tourist can still enjoy and experience our beach resort even though they don't
have a private transportation especially if they can't afford to rent due to quantity of the group.

Bataan is famous for it's beaches and along with this are resorts. But one thing I noticed is
that, most of this "pasyalan" has their similarities with each other. In this fast-paced industry,
creating a space that not only captivate but elevate the guest experience is a UNIQUE FORM
OF ENGAGEMENT.

boasts for (i.e. Cebu, Davao) wherein high rise hotels are common and evident in every
resort/hotel businesses. I guess investing in high rise and multiple storey building

mga taga bataan pero malayo at need mag stay sa balanga. Since, mostly nasa balanga or
malapit sa vicinity ng balanga yung mga dinadayo ng mga taga ibang lugar (ex. residents
from orani, orion, etc.)

As a platform for hosting events, it can boost local economy by attracting exhibitors and
tourists and could also lead on more infrastructure development around the area.

Both of them will improve. Thus, we need to keep in mind that there will be a lot of visitors or
even migrants that will go to Bataan and large scales of constructions such as roadways or
transportation matters and other infrastructures are evitable to be constructed. Moreover,
environment must be deeply and impprtantly considered to this point.

This project can have an impact in terms of accomodation. It will improve it's engagement to
people and can also incorporate local culture and heritage. For me, this project will create a
memorable signature space in Bataan.
