Three types of nurses:

• LPN (licensed practical nurse)

• LPNs provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs)
and physicians. They typically work in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and
clinics, and their responsibilities may include monitoring patients, administering
medication, and providing basic patient care.

• RN (registered nurse)
• RNs have completed a nursing program and passed the NCLEX-RN exam to
obtain licensure. They are trained to provide a wide range of healthcare services,
including administering medications, coordinating patient care, educating patients and
families about various health conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare
professionals. RNs can work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and
community health centers.

• APN (advanced practice nurse)

• APNs are registered nurses who have advanced education and clinical
training in a specialized area of nursing practice. They may specialize as nurse
practitioners (NPs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), certified registered nurse
anesthetists (CRNAs), or certified nurse-midwives (CNMs). APNs have an
