Dancing
• It is a movement of the body or the skills and talents that showcase on the
streets.
• it is used for activity like preparing costumes and demands creativity and
originality.
Purpose of Dancing
• A literature that they ask questions that make you think and try to figure out the
answer. They often use words that sound similar or describe things in a tricky way.
• Example: "I'm tall when I'm young and short when I'm old. What am I?"
• The answer is "a candle." When a candle is new (young), it is tall. As it burns and
melts down (gets older), it becomes shorter.
Poems
• A literature that they use words to tell stories or describe things in a special way.
It can be about anything, like nature, feelings, or things we see every day. They
often use rhymes and have a rhythm that makes them sound nice when you read
them out loud.
Example:
In school, we learn every day, We dream big, reach for the sky,
Reading, writing, games we play. With knowledge, we can fly high.
With friends and teachers, we explore, In school, we make new friends,
Learning new things, we adore. Our learning journey never ends.
Education helps us grow, With pencils, books, and smiles bright,
In our hearts and minds, it shows. We learn and grow with all our might.
Novels
• A literature that tells a story about fictional characters and events, often exploring
themes, emotions, and human experiences. Novels are longer than short stories
and can vary greatly in length, ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of
thousands of words. They usually consist of multiple chapters.

Noli Me Tangere
• It is a socio-political novel that exposed the injustices and abuses of the Spanish
colonial government and clergy during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines.

El Filibusterismo
• It is a sequel to "Noli Me Tangere" and continues to critique the social issues and

Full name of Rizal:
Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado Y Alonzo Realonda
Born: June 19, 1861, in Calamba, Laguna.
Died: December 30, 1896, at the age of 35 being executed by firing squad in
Bagumbayan, Manila. Bagumbayan known as Luneta Park or Rizal Park.
Jose Rizal used literature to convey his message of patriotism to the Filipino people in his
novels.

• It can be physical or mental activities that are played for fun or recreation, like
board games or card games.

Other Folk Games in the Philippines
• When people catch fish and other creatures from rivers, lakes, or the ocean. They
use special tools like fishing rods, nets, or traps to catch the fish. After catching
them, people can cook and eat the fish, or sell them to others who want to eat
them.
• Philippines is surrounded by Water.
• There are 2000 species of marine life in the country.
• Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – has identified the Sulu
sea, Visayan sea, Moro Gulf, Samar sea, Bohol sea, Leyte Gulf and Taybas lake
as better places for fishing.
• Milkfish,Catfish, Shrimp and Mudfish – are fish that are abundance in Bulacan,
Pampanga, Iloilo, Pangasinan and Capiz.

Mining
• When people dig deep into the ground to find valuable materials like gold, silver,
coal, or diamonds. They use big machines and tools to dig tunnels and extract
these materials from the earth. The materials found through mining can be used
to make jewelry, electronics, and other things people use every day.
• Philippines is the 5th Country in the world with the largest mineral deposits.
And, Copper of the Phlippines is one of the leading producers.
• There are 2 types of minerals in the country: Metalic and Non-Metalic
• Metalic - an example of these like gold, copper, iron, chromite, manganese and
nickel.
• Non-metalic - an example of these like marble, limestone, clay, fieldspar, rock
aggregrates, guano and other quarry resources.
Logging
• When people cut down trees in forests. They use special tools like axes or
chainsaws to chop down the trees. The wood from the trees can be used to make
things like furniture, paper, or houses. It's important to plant new trees after logging
to keep the forests healthy.
• Philippines has a rich 5.7 hectares of forest, but less than 50% is used for
Commercial Forest.
• Commercial Forest - It is a place where trees are grown to be used for making
things like paper, furniture, and houses. People plant trees in these forests and
take care of them until they grow big enough to be cut down. Then, the wood from
these trees is harvested and used to make different products that we use every
day.
• Philippine mahogany or dipterocarp like the yakal, apitong, tanguile, mayapis, and
guijo are best of sources of logs used for Furniture and Buildings.
• Forest in Palawan- found produce logs that are used for furniture because they
are hard and sturdy.
• Thick - is the characteristics of their forest in Luzon, Cordillera and Cagayan valley
region.
Livelihood in the Community
Occupation - defined to the activity to which one regularly devotes oneself especially
one’s regular work or means of getting a living.
Farmers - They are the people who provide one of our most important needs, which is
the food.
Fisherfolk - They are the people who responsible for providing our needs for fish, shells,
and other marine products.
Miners - They are the people who dig deep into the ground to find valuable materials like
gold, silver, coal, or diamonds. The materials found through mining can be used to make
jewelry, electronics, and other things people use every day.

product to be strong and productive member of the society.
Water – It is also a basic need for cooking and drinking.
Clothes – It is a basic need to protect our bodies from cold or from the heat of the sun.

Shelter - It is a basic need to protect ourself from the harsh environment.
Other Basic Needs
Health and Sanitation - It is also a need for the people to address their medical needs.
Education - It is also a need to improve our lives and become more productive citizen of

Transportation - It is also a need for the people to go to their work, travel to other places.
Communication Facilities - It is also a need in the lives of people to communicate easily
with their friends, relatives and other colleagues in every side of the world.
