ENGLISH AND VISUAL ARTS WEEK

(17th JULY - 22nd JULY 2023)

Theme: UKETAMO

14th July, 2023

‘Art is a language that many people can understand but few can speak.’

Dear Parents,
Greetings from the Suncity Family!
The school has encouraged and focused on attaining Subject wise learning outcomes and applying their
learning in real-life situations. Implementation of competency-based education is also made possible through
integrated subject learning, to promote reflection, critical thinking, initiation, self - direction and other 21st
century skills.
Keeping with the methodology of integration of subjects, we plan to celebrate the English and Visual Arts
Week from 17th-22nd July, 2023. Since, Art unlocks the door of learning, multiple oratorical and language
enhancement activities have been planned for the week integrating them with Visual Arts, Sustainable
Development Goals, and our yearly theme of ‘Uketamo’. This will act as a positive catalyst to develop their
language skills and concurrently enhancement of their artistic skills too. To incorporate the element of
beyond-the classroom learning experience for the students, we plan to take Grades I-II to watch a movie
show; and Grades III-IV to visit the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi on Saturday, 22nd July
2023.
To ensure that our children derive the maximum benefit from this exercise we seek your cooperation. Do
encourage your ward to participate in the activities planned for this week. The schedule for the same is
appended below.
Looking forward to enthusiastic participation from all our students!
With warm regards,

Nandita Mathur

It is believed that practice of flower arranging
leads a person to become more patient and
tolerant of differences in nature and in life,
providing relaxation in mind, body and soul,
and allowing a person to identify with beauty in
all art forms.
