of people to the moon. It was done by NASA, the popular American space group. It went up to space on 16 July 1969, carrying these three astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.

The first true robot toy was made in Japan. The
‘Lilliput’ was a wind-up toy that walked. It was made out of tinplate and is 15cm tall.

1781 James Watt made a new type of steam engine that can be used to power machines in factories. This allowed factories to be located anywhere. Through the 1800s steam engines grew bigger and continues to grow more powerful. They were used to not just only power factories, but can also power steamboats and trains.
