character of the product. Redosing of admixture up to 0.25% can be done at site if workability is found lower than requirement.

Target mean strength = f ck + 1.65 x t = [ 25 + 1.65 x 4.0 ] = 31.60 N/mm2
1. Based on Lab Trials , corrected free water content for the mix is = 196 Ltr
Based on experience, adopt Free Water Cementitious Ratio as = 0.37 < 0.5 , Hence OK
2. Total Cementitious material content ( a) = 530 Kg
Cement content OPC 53 = 330 Kg
Mineral admixture 1 Fly Ash = 200 Kg

3. Volume of Entrapped air in wet concrete = 0.010 Cum

4. Absolute volume of
Cement = [ 330 / 3.14 ] X [ 1/1000 ] = 0.105 Cum
Mineral admixture 1 Fly Ash = [ 200 / 2.20 ] X [ 1/1000 ] = 0.091 Cum
Water = [ 196 / 1.00 ] X [ 1/1000 ] = 0.196 Cum
Admixture ( @ 0.50% by wt of Cement ) = [ 2.65 / 1.12 ] X [ 1/1000 ] = 0.002 Cum

5. PROPORTION OF VOLUME OF COARSE AGGREGATE AND FINE AGGREGATE CONTENT


Volume of aggaregate = ( 0.990 - 0.394 ) = 0.596 Cum
Based on Lab Trials , we adopt Coarse aggregate : Fine Aggregate ratio as = 47 : 53 ( by weight )
Weighted average specific gravity of aggregate taken for calculation = ( % of 10mm Aggregate /Specific Gravity of 10mm Aggregate
+ % of River Sand /Specific Gravity of River Sand)
= ( 47% / 2.81 ) + ( 53% / 2.64 ) = 2.720
Mass of Total Aggregate = [ Absolute volume of aggregates X Weighted avg Sp Gravity of total aggregate ] x 1000
= 1620 Kg

Quantity of :-
Coarse aggregate 1 10 mm = 1620 x 47% = 761 Kg/m3
Fine aggregate 1 River Sand = 1620 x 53% = 858 Kg/m3
Adjustment for absorption by aggregates:
1.Free water to be used in one cubic meter of concrete
a) Absorption by coarse aggregates
10 mm = 761 x 0.89% = 7 Kg
River Sand = 858 x 1.28% = 11 Kg

2.Total water to be used including absorbed water = 196 + 18 = 214 Kg/m3
