Introduction
My name is Rana Zohaib Naseem Khan, with registration number BCS203084, currently
enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Science program at Capital University of Science
and Technology, Batch No: 203. I firmly believe that engaging in volunteer work should
not merely be a requirement for a degree; rather, it should be pursued with wholehearted
dedication and passion. My life's mission is to achieve success and to contribute to
solving people's problems. Rather than offering monetary assistance, my approach
involves empowering individuals to become self-sufficient.
I intend to dedicate my time to assisting the unemployed, providing literacy education,
and imparting skills that enable them to attain independence. My goal is to support them
in becoming literate and entrepreneurial.

Overview
Before starting my Volunteer Internship Service (VIS) at the Vis Office of Capital
University of Science and Technology, I had some apprehensions about the type of work I
would be assigned. However, I approached the opportunity with an open mind and a
willingness to learn. Despite any initial hesitations, I embraced every task assigned to me,
demonstrating my full potential and capabilities. I realized that by stepping out of my
comfort zone, I could acquire new skills and experiences that would contribute to my
personal and professional growth. Throughout my time in the VIS program, I tackled
challenges head-on, utilizing problem-solving skills and dedication to excel in my
responsibilities. Overall, my experience with VIS not only dispelled my initial doubts but
also instilled in me a sense of confidence and resilience, affirming the value of embracing
opportunities with determination and enthusiasm.
8
Scope of VIS Activities:
The Volunteer Internship Service (VIS) program at Capital University of Science and
Technology (CUST) is a core component of the degree requirements,(but students must
have to take it as volunteer means do it with full potential and passion) focusing on
engaging students in voluntary work to address societal needs. Unlike traditional
internships, VIS involves students dedicating their time and skills to serve communities
and organizations without financial compensation. The program aims to foster a spirit of
altruism, social responsibility, and community engagement among students while
bridging communication gaps and addressing pressing social issues.
2. Focus Areas:
The VIS program at CUST emphasizes volunteer work in various focus areas, all aimed
at contributing to the welfare of society and reducing communication gaps. Some key
focus areas include:
9
Environmental Conservation: Students play a role in environmental conservation
efforts, including tree planting initiatives, recycling campaigns, or raising awareness
about sustainable living practices.
By participating in the VIS program, students not only fulfill their degree requirements
but also develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership while
making a positive impact on society. The program serves as a platform for students to
apply their academic knowledge in practical settings, fostering personal growth and a
deeper understanding of community needs. Ultimately, the VIS program at CUST
embodies the university's commitment to producing socially responsible graduates who
are equipped to address the challenges facing society.

Date/Day-wise Activities:
13-02-24/Tuesday
On the first day of the VIS program, I, Rana Zohaib Naseem, assisted in the assignment
of placement letters to students interested in participating in the program for the current
session. This involved compiling a list of students and collaborating with the VIS
manager to allocate them to their preferred organizations. For instance, I curated a list of
ten students for placement at Alhijra organization based on their proximity and student
preferences. Additionally, I facilitated communication by creating a WhatsApp group for
students placed at the 'Redo' organization.
14-02-24/Wednesday
The following day, I focused on compiling data for the VIS Report, which offers a
comprehensive analysis of the program's operations. This entailed tracking the number of
registered students, attendance at orientation sessions, and distribution of placement
letters. I also updated records to incorporate newly attending students into the database
for accurate reporting.
15-02-24/Thursday
I dedicated this day to compiling a detailed report on the activities and initiatives
undertaken by the VIS Directorate at Capital University of Science and Technology. This
involved consolidating reports from various events and initiatives conducted by the
university from January 2023 to December 2023, providing a comprehensive overview of
VIS activities.
16-02-24/Friday
On this day, I compiled a report focusing specifically on the activities and initiatives
related to environmental sustainability under the VIS Directorate. This report
encompassed events and initiatives undertaken by the university from January 2023 to
December 2023. Additionally, I attended a meeting chaired by Mr. Naemullah and Mr.
Naeem Saud, where we discussed strategies to enhance the VIS program, emphasizing
the importance of student involvement and dedication. I also documented the minutes of
the meeting for future reference.
11
19-02-24/Monday
I spent the fifth day of the VIS program making feedback calls to students who were not
attending their assigned organizations. Gathering feedback, addressing concerns, and
providing guidance were the primary objectives of these calls. Additionally, I organized
and stored files deemed unnecessary or irrelevant in the VIS office, ensuring an organized
workspace for future activities.
20-02-24/Tuesday
This day involved assisting Mr. Naeem Saud in evaluating students' progress reports for
grading purposes. I reviewed completed reports, calculated completion percentages, and
coordinated with students to ensure all requirements were met. Furthermore, I received
reports from students who had completed their VIS and verified their compliance before
issuing acknowledgment slips.
21-02-24/Wednesday
Under the guidance of the VIS director, we conducted field visits to three organizations:
Pakistan Fighting for Blindness (PFFB), Shaukat Khanum, and Alkhidmat Foundation
Islamabad. During these visits, we conducted question sessions to understand the
organizations' motivations, goals, volunteer progress, and gathered recommendations and
feedback.
22-02-24/Thursday
Following the organization visits, I compiled detailed reports documenting the question
sessions and the responses provided by each organization, including PFFB, Shaukat
Khanum, and Alkhidmat Foundation.
23-02-24/Friday
This day was dedicated to compiling semester records, including the number of registered
VIS students, distribution of placement letters, and departmental breakdown.
Additionally, I compiled records for the Islamic Studies department.
12
26-02-24/Friday
On this day, I created a comprehensive PDF detailing the demographic view of
organizations affiliated with the VIS program. This demographic view assists VIS office
managers in identifying areas where additional organization affiliations may be beneficial
based on student requirements.
