available evidence plus previous knowledge and experience.

To identify the feelings of the characters or to infer the character traits, we have to look on the three kinds of evidence:

An Opinion is a judgment formed about something based on fact or knowledge. It is brief, formed regularly, and evolve
quickly as data emerges. While, Belief is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. It has more
staying power but can shift as data and life experiences occur. On the other hand, Conviction is a firmly held and stable,
long-term belief. These are powerful life-long truths that we should be prepared to defend.

In short, A belief is something that an individual considers as the truth. While, conviction can be defined as a firm belief.
And, an opinion is an honest attempt to draw a reasonable conclusion from factual evidence.
