SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and

Expression, and Sexual Characteristics)
Not only intended for the LGBTQ+ community but for everyone. It covers a spectrum of sexuality
and orientation for every human being.
Ang SOGIESC ay hindi lamang para sa mga taong nabibilang sa LGBTQ+ community kundi pati
narin sa lahat ng indibidwal. Saklaw nito ang isang malawak na spectrum ng mga sekswalidad at
kasarian.
Sexual Orientation
Refers to a person’s emotional, physical, and sexual attraction to another individual.
Ito ay tumutukoy sa emosyonal, pisikal, at sekswal na atraksyon ng isang indibidwal tungo sa iba.

Gender Identity
Refers to a person’s internal experience and identification of gender, which may or may not
correspond to the sex assigned at birth.
Ito ay tumutukoy sa karanasan at pagkakakilanlan ng isang indibidwal sa kanyang kasarian na
maaari o hindi maaaring naka-ayon sa sex na nakatala mula pagkasilang.

Gender Expression
External manifestations of a person’s gender identity, expressed through one’s name, pronouns,
clothing, voice, and body characteristics.
Pagpapahayag ng isang tao ang kanyang kasarian. Maaring makita at matukoy sa pangalan,
panghalip, pananamit, boses, at iba pang katangian.
Masculine
 A person who has qualities and characteristics which are traditionally associated with a man.
 Isang tao na may mga katangian na tradisyunal na naayon sa isang lalaki.
Feminine
 A person who has qualities and characteristics which are traditionally associated with a woman.
 Isang tao na may mga katangian na tradisyunal na naayon sa isang babae.
Gender Neutral
 A person whose qualities and characteristics differ from those which are traditionally associated
with a man or a woman.
 Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang tao na may mga katangian na hindi tradisyunal na naayon sa isang
lalaki o babae.
Androgynous
 A person whose qualities and characteristics are a combination of those traditionally associated
with a man and a woman.
 Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang tao na may kombinasyon na katangian na tradisyunal na naayon sa
isang lalaki at babae.
Sex Characteristics
 Refers to a person's inner and outer sex and reproductive characteristics such as genitals,
chromosomal and hormonal structure, and other characteristics emerging from puberty.
 Tumutukoy sa panlabas at panloob na sex at reproductive na katangian ng isang tao gaya ng ari,
chromosomal at hormonal structure, at iba pang katangiang lumalabas matapos ang puberty.
Male
 A person born with XY chromosomes and has male reproductive and sex organs.
 Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang tao na ipinanganak na may XY chromosomes at reproductive at sex
organs ng isang lalaki.
Female
 A person born with XX chromosomes and has female reproductive and sex organs.
 Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang tao na ipinanganak na may XX chromosomes at reproductive at sex
organs ng isang babae.
Intersex
 A general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive and
sexual anatomy that doesn't fit the definitions of male and female.
 Tumutukoy sa iba't ibang kondisyon kung saan ang isang tao ay ipinanganak na may sexual at
reproductive na katangiang hindi umaayon sa tipikal na depinisyon ng pagiging babae o lalake.
