Terminology Details
Special test for In case of deep-frozen reefer shipment, i.e. booking temperature
deep frozen cargo below minus 23 degC (-23°C), additional testing requirements are
required.
EXCEPTION: For TK Magnum, Deep Frozen Test will be carried out
ONLY when the setting is below minus 25degC (-25°C).

If the box aged 5 years or younger which is still covered under warranty period, don’t disable
dehumidification function as long as it is a unit equipped with RH Sensor.
For a box at 6years old or over, specifically described as follows:
a. Thermoking reefer: needn’t inspect RH Sensor during Chill or Long PTI inspection;
refer to item 7 about how to disable dehumidification function.
b. Daikin reefer: No need to manually disable dehumidification function,as De-hum
feature will default off after Long/Chill PTI
c. Carrier Reefer: Don’t disable the humidification feature without OOCL pre-approval.
1) Regular PTI Validity Period is 60 days, and Smart PTI validity is 30 Days
2) If the reefer has been positioned by vessels from other location and still within 60 days after
latest PTI, POL OPS Team or RFT/HKG Team might provide reefer list to POD team who are
requested to share the reefer list with the vendor and remind the vendor to check reefer carefully
during gate inspection while no PTI is required.
3) If the reefer is empty returned by the shipper due to booking cancelation or other reasons after
release for booking shipment and still within 60days after latest regular PTI, needn’t do regular
PTI again.
If it is Smart PTI performed for one export booking, but the booking is cancelled after
booking release, the reefer needs regular PTI again once after empty return.
Except:
i. If there is a visual heavy damage of the reefer box and/or machinery. PTI is required per PTI
Application Criteria after the damage is rectified or repaired,
ii. If there is any malfunctioning report on the unit or customer’s complaint about the reefer
performance, PTI is required per PTI Application Criteria.
4) For all the reefers aged at or below 9, the insulation is sound without significant normal wear &
tear and the machinery is new. Thus, we only need to carry out the checking of the reefer
machinery plus the sensor checking at +0.0degC. No need to check the performance at -18degC.
5) The Conventional PTI will be carried out by PM centers, or specific vendors assigned by OOCL
for thorough checking of the reefers, with download data submitted.
6) For brand new reefer being first delivered from the factory to in-service fleet,

has been idling at factory not over than 60days after commissioning date.
Except:
I. PTI is required if new reefer is empty positioned to other location while the reefer has
been idling at factory over than 60days after commissioning date.
II. If there is a visual heavy damage of the reefer box and/or machinery, or any part
missing. PTI is required per PTI Application Criteria after the damage is rectified or
repaired.
III. Special request from OOCL to do PTI.
If there is a booking with set temperature below minus 23degC(-23oC), e.g. minus 30degC(-
30oC), the Special Test – Deep Frozen Cargo is to be carried out before issuing the box.
EXCEPTION: For TK Magnum, Deep Frozen Test will be carried out ONLY when the
setting is below minus 25degC (-25oC).
ii. CA test
If there is a booking required of CO2/O2 setting upon the customer’s requirement, CA test is
to be carried out according to the manual before issuing the box.
If there is a booking required of pre-cooling of reefer box upon the customer’s requirement,
the selected Reefer is to be set at the booking temperature, and to be carried out of Running
Test till arrival at booking temperature.

In case one reefer requiring of Chill PTI just run with “Brief PTI” (TK), or “S. PTI” (Daikin), (for example,
no Chill PTI menu is found in the controller menu), it needs to set and run the unit to +0.0degC to check
stability at zero setting, or re-test according to above-mentioned step iii;
iv. After Chill PTI pass, record down the necessary readings, Calibrate/Replace sensors, if
necessary.

(Booking with set temperature below minus 23 deg Celsius, e.g. minus 30degC)
In case of deep frozen cargo booking, all vendors have to comply with the following requirements before
releasing the box for stuffing:
