THIS CONTRACT (“Contract”) is entered into by and between Sohar University (“the Client”) having its
principal place of business at Sohar, Sultanate of Oman, and Ms. Zainab Nasib Ali Salim Al Saidi

WHEREAS, the Client wishes to have the Agent perform the services hereinafter referred to, and

2. Services The Agent shall perform the services specified in Annex A, “Terms of Reference
and Scope of Services” (“the Services”) which is made an integral part of this
Contract.
3. Term The Agent shall perform the Services during the period commencing 01.05.2023.
and continuing through until and including 31.10.2023. The contract is fixed to the
specified period and cannot be extended.
4. Payment (a) Ceiling

For Services rendered pursuant to Annex A, the Client shall pay the Agent
an amount not to exceed a monthly payment of 450 OMR (AMOUNT IN
CAPTIAL LETTRS OMR). This amount has been established based on
the understanding that it includes the commitment of the Agent to
undertake the work specified within the designated period. The payment
made under the Contract consists of the Agent's remuneration as defined
in sub-paragraph b below.

(b) Remuneration

The Client shall pay the Agent for Services rendered at a pro rate(s) in the
service of Sohar University. (As per time sheet at the rate of 2.5 OMR
per Hour after the completion of the project)

(c) Payment Conditions

Payment shall be made in OMR by Bank Transfer not later than 30 days
after the end of submission of progress reports in duplicate to the
coordinator designated in paragraph 5.

5. Project (a) Coordinator

The Client designates Dr Nitin Raut as the Client’s Coordinator; the
coordinator shall be responsible for the coordination of activities under the
Contract, and for submitting payments to the Research office for approval.

6. Performance The Agent undertakes to perform the Services with the highest standards of
Standard professional and ethical competence and integrity.
7. Confidentiality The Agent shall not, during the term of this Contract and within two years after its
expiration, disclose any proprietary or confidential information relating to the
Services, this Contract or the Client’s business or operations without the prior
written consent of the Client.
8. Ownership of Any studies, reports or other material, graphic, software or otherwise, prepared by
Material the Agent for the Client under the Contract shall belong to and remain the property
of the Client.
9. Insurance The Agent will be responsible for taking out any appropriate insurance coverage.

10. Assignment The Agent shall not assign this Contract or Subcontract any portion of it without
the Client's prior written consent.

11.Termination

11.1 By the Client The Client may terminate this Contract if the Agent is unable to perform a material
portion of the Services.

11.2 By the Agent The Agent may terminate this Contract, by not less than thirty (30) days’ written
notice to the Client, such notice to be given after the occurrence of any of the events
specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this Clause 11.2.

(a) if the Client fails to pay any monies due to the Agent pursuant to this Contract;
or

(b) if, as the result of Force Majeure, the Agent is unable to perform a material
portion of the Services for a period of not less than thirty (30) days.
11.3 Payment Upon termination of this Contract pursuant to Clauses 11.1 or 11.2, the Client shall
upon make payment to the Agent in accordance with the remuneration clause 4 parts (b)

Terms of Reference and Scope of Services


1. Primary Tasks: Temporary Contract for an External Funded Project
Research Assistant
(Non-Renewable Fixed Term Contract)
1. Assist the Research Technician In charge to conduct and execute surveys in the following
Wilayat (Jalan bani bu ali, Dalkut and Suwayq) in accordance with the project's scope.
2. Assist the Research Technician In charge to dismantle of the following WEEE (Keyboard,
Hard disk and Mobile phone) in accordance with the project's scope.
3. Participate actively in project meetings in order to achieve project objectives.
