TASK 5: Overview of Frameworks to Consider in Teaching Literature

How will you apply these frameworks in your teaching? Write what you are going to do
to consider these literature teaching concepts in your literature classroom.
Consideration What will I do in my literature classroom to assure that these considerations are
in Teaching achieved?
Literature
In our literature classroom, in order to assure that such consideration is achieved
is through employing Language Based Approach.
Through this approach, studying the literary pieces found in every competency
would result in the English development of the four macro skills of the students.
Also, this kind of approach offers variety of specific drills to build the language skills
of the learners rather than just just focusing on the literary skill development.
Language Based Approach in teaching the most essential learning competencies
K to 12 English enable literature learners to interact, collaborate, peer teach and self-interdependence.
Language Arts
Curriculum By means of utilizing Language-Based Approach in our literature classroom we
Framework must:
 Guide our students in expressing their opinions towards a particular literary
text through writing and speaking activities (performance activities such as
drama, role play, poetry recital) and other group related works.
 Set language activities such as teaching literature through songs, games,
storytelling, cloze test, jigzaw puzzle, prediction exercises in order to develop
child's language skills through literary text.

In our literature classroom, in order to develop the learners appreciation of


literature, in this area of consideration, we are going to apply Personal Response
Approach in teaching literature. This approach will help us in instilling the essence
of literature wherein learners are given the opportunity to analyze, interpret and make
connections to the varied literary pieces that would later on results to valuing
Definitions and literature as part of one's life.
Benefits of
Literature By means of utilizing Personal-Response Approach in our literature classroom we
must:
 Encourage our learner to relate the themes to their personal experiences like
creating photo essay, blog or even vlog. This is to ignite the transformative
effects of literature to their language skill development and even to their
personal growth.
 Activities to be employed in the literature classroom could be journal writing,
brainstorming session, small group discussions and others.

In our literature classroom, in order to assure that such consideration is achieved


is through employing Stylistics Approach
Through this approach, learners would be guided in interpreting the literary by
means of looking at the language used by the author, probe students to identify
linguistic features from the text that are significant to their read, encourages language
awareness and encourage students to discuss beyond the surface meaning of the text
