I. SITUATION
Basic days of the pupils are considered to be the most fundamental stage in their
academic endeavor. This is the stage where they are very receptive in every lessons and
ideas that the teacher or an adult might teach them. This is said to be the stage where they
absorb every details and information poured to them. Therefore, it is very ideal that the pupils
from kindergarten must be taught properly for them to be ready for their basic education
curriculum. Before, it has been a major role of the teachers to teach the children the
knowledge they need. But in this time of crisis, everybody is in charge of the learning of the
children. The parents play an essential role in the learning of the children.
The researcher believes that this thing must be taken consideration and needs to have
a good remediation to provide the quality education that every pupil deserves. So that the
teachers who might have the same experience would have an idea on how they could
address the situation to make things a lot easier and at the same time it could provide an
enjoyable learning experience to the learners. The teacher provides the learners with a
reading materials every day to be read at home and the parents must religiously follow-up
the pupil to further enhance the pupils learning ability. The pupils will be given modules
for them to tach their learners. It is now the major responsibility of the parents to teach
their learners. The parents have to fill in the checklist so that they will be guided in their
study sessions with the pupil. This will help the teacher and the parent identify the
strengths and weaknesses of the pupils in terms of reading readiness. It is good to have
this kind of study checklist with the parent so that they will have an idea on how to
address the learning needs of the learner.
III. SUMMARY
This study aims to highlight the influence of collaborative effort of teacher and
parent’s participation to the academic performance of the pupil. This research would be a
factual comparison of data gathered from the respondents. This research would help teachers
and parents become more equipped in rearing the children. This could also be a reference of
other related research. The researcher believes that it is best to tap the parents and encourage
them to get involved in the learning journey of their pupils and also encourages them to
constantly follow up the lessons so that it would instill to the minds of the pupils. Both the
parents/ guardians and the teacher have to share responsibility in molding young minds to
become competent in every aspect of learning domains
I. SITUATION
Teachers may have to face a lot of destructions in daily. They may have to deal with
an uninterested pupil or they may suffer from burden in absence of parents support.
Classroom behavior is one of the trickiest issues teachers face today because classrooms are
much more complicated than they were in the previous years, more learners to come to
school with behavioral problems than ever before and teachers face the challenge of
managing their behavior. The purpose of this action research is to demonstrate the types of
practices that teacher’s use when disturbing behavior occur in their classrooms. The present
study distinguishes the classroom management practices into two broad categories: positive
non-punitive practices and negative punitive practices.
II. INTERVENTION
The researcher would like to have a concrete study on the identified problem.
Intervention for struggling pupils behavior in the classroom. The problem is critical, therefore
it must be given with an immediate solution on this regard. So teachers must find ways and
means to cater the needs of the pupils which will result to high performance in every
assessment. This study distinguishes the classroom management practices into two broad
categories: positive non-punitive practices such as, establishing and re-establishing rules,
encouraging children to be responsible, promoting pupils to discuss a topic involving
behavior, emotions or situations of concern, etc. with punitive practices such as verbal
reprimand, intervention by yelling etc. research has yielded important information that has
practical implications of classroom behavior for improvement practices.
III. SUMMARY
Teachers employ and use strategies that have been proved to be effective and work in
their particular situation with their particular pupils. Research referring to teacher’s
management practices has shown that teachers tend to employ a variety of techniques. The
findings of the present study indicated the most common behavior management practices that
grade 2 teachers use in public school. These results extend the findings of previous studies
which reported that teachers tend to use positive ways of dealing with children’s behavior
problems, but they do deliver punishment as well.
Part I. SITUATION
The Department of Education Order No 16, s. February 17, 2012, states that starting
the school year 2012 – 2013, the mother tongue-based multilingual education will be
implemented in all public schools specifically in Grade I, as part of the K to 12 Curriculum.
This aims to develop appropriate cognitive and reasoning skills enabling children to operate
equality in different languages, starting in the mother tongue with transition to other subjects.
Learners begin their education in the language they understand best. The use of mother
tongue as the languages and instruction is an innovation approach by the Department of
Education. In a way the students will develop a strong foundation of leaning. Be it in oral or
written form. Based on observation nowadays, learners find it hard to express ideas directly
in English language. Most of them have prior knowledge but could hardly express
considering the grammatical aspects of it.
Part II. FINDINGS AND INSIGHTS
Learners begin their education in the language they understand best. The use of
mother tongue as the language used in instruction is an innovation approach by the
Department of Education. In a way, the students will develop a strong foundation of leaning.
Be it in oral or written form. Based on observation nowadays, learners find it hard to express
ideas directly in English language. Most of them have prior knowledge but could hardly
express considering the grammatical aspects of it. The effects of Mother tongue-based
Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) in Mathematics performance awaken the interest of
many educators, including the researcher herself and most especially the primary grade
teachers who are using Mother tongue-based instruction as a medium of instruction in the
classroom.
I. Introduction/Situation
Learners are the most important assets in every educational institution. The learners’
performance plays an important role in producing quality graduates who will become a great
leader and a better Filipino citizen in the near future. Thus, learners have to put the greatest
effort in their study to obtain good grades and to have a better future. Nowadays, there are
learners have a poor academic performance because of many factors affecting on it.
The factors affecting a student’s academic performance arise from several reasons.
This research is conducted to determine the factors that affect the academic performance of
the selected learners in Cabacungan Elementary School.
III. Summary
This study will help the learners by allowing them to understand better the factors that
can affect their academic performance. They may be able to improve their academic
performance with the findings that are established by this study. The parents also may be able
to understand and help their children regarding their school matters and give them support.
For the teachers, this study may help them to recognize problems encountered by the learners.
Teaching is the most dynamic process in the life of a teacher, and learning is the most
dynamic process in the life of the learners. With these, teachers and the parents of the learners
must have a communication to discuss about the performace of their child.
Therefore the researcher suggests a research specifying a subject in determining the
factors affecting the academic performance of the learners and adding respondents.
seriously. Parents’ primary goals are to monitor, to motivate, and to guide their children even
in their simple ways.

Part I. Situation/Scenario/setting
There are a lot of contributing factors on how reading skill affects the behavior and
learning of the pupils in a class. In fact, one can already foretell if a pupil will be promoted
in the next level or not through finding out if a child can read well or not. It is already crystal
clear that when a child can’t read, he has shown poor academic standing. Obviously the lack
of reading skill will eventually lead to failing grades. It is indeed a big problem especially
when the pupil is already in the third grade. This is why the researcher would like to focus on
how to reinforce reading to the non-readers and improve the reading skill of the frustrated
reader of the researcher’s class.
In this research, the researcher will know the factors affecting the reading
performance of the grade III-Polite pupils of Cabacungan Elementary School and that she can
then make plans, programs, and interventions to improve the reading performance of the
frustrated and slow learners so that they will not be left behind for they will be remediated
and catered with the exact instruction they needed.
