PROCEDURE

This procedure applies when you want to relocate IBIS units from one data server to another or archive and reload
IBIS units to the same data server.

SCENARIO 1

Move IBIS unit from Data Server 1 to Data Server 2

1. Login to Data Server 1 (DS1) admin tool and go to Radar Unit Manager

2. Identify Radar Unit that you want to move (example Radar Unit 9)

3. Close Guardian Project that is uploading data to IBIS unit that you are going to move.

4. If FPM Environment is installed, remove the IBIS unit from FPM Master Project.

5. Select Radar unit required to be moved and click Archive button.

6. Click OK to confirm the selection

7. Provide Radar Unit Name for the Archive (do not modify from Default) and select the folder you would
like to use to store archived data

Note: the destination folder must have sufficient space to save the archived data.

To Estimate how much space is required, go to file explorer, and browse to IBIS Data storage folder,
example below (C:\IBIS\Data\IBISUNITS).

Right click on the folder with IBIS Unit ID and select properties. Example below is IBIS Unit ID 27.

8. Watch for the status of Archiving task and wait for it to be completed.

9. Navigate to the archive folder and copy ZIP and XML files to a USB drive

10. Login to Data Server 2 (DS2) admin tool and go to Radar Unit Manager

11. Ensure there is no IBIS unit with the same ID number present in this data server.

If there is a unit with the same ID, you need to delete it from this Data Server.

12. Copy ZIP and XML files from USB to a folder on the new Data Server (Example C:\IBIS\DS_Restore)

13. Click Reload Button in DS2 admin tool

14. Select Browse and browse to the folder where you saved the archived files (C:\IBIS\DS_Restore)

15. Select the unit required and click reload

16. Watch the progress of the task and wait for it to finish

17. Once the task is finished you will see the unit in database as Active.

18. If you have a Guardian Project for this Unit, modify the IP address of Data Server to point to the new
Data Server and re-open project.

SCENARIO 2

Archive and Reload IBIS unit from on the same Data Server PC.

Same steps apply, except for steps 9 and 12.

Use Case:

IBIS unit was archived to save space, but later required to be reloaded to read the data.

SCENARIO 3

Archive IBIS unit to save space on Data Server

Apply steps 1-9 and instead of copying files from local disc to USB disc, select MOVE option.
