AMD DATA CENTER SUPPORT AT AMD, SUNNYVALE,
CALIFORNIA, USA. (07/2003–TILL DATE)
AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) designs and produces microprocessors, Flash memory devices

GE RAIL CAR MANAGEMENT PROJECT FOR GE RAIL CAR AT

TCS NOIDA PHASE II, INDIA. (09/2002–TILL DATE)
This project is being done for GE for their Rail Car Management system. This is a data-
warehousing project and is presently under maintenance. He is working as an Oracle and
Teradata DBA. The assignment involves storing data for warehousing in Teradata database in two
ways. One way is to load data into Teradata by scheduling Mload and Fload scripts of Teradata.
The second way is to upload data from Oracle database to Teradata by using Informatica
mappings.

Vijay’s responsibilities include:

• Involved in administration of 20 Oracle instances and 2 Teradata instances for GE RAIL CAR
production and test system.
• Worked as Oracle Financial DBA for GE RAIL CAR system. Responsibilities include activities
like monitoring, backup of OF application, application user and responsibility management,
cloning of application from production environment to test environment and application of
patches.
• Performing Backup/Recovery of all the Oracle databases using RMAN, also setup RMAN
catalogue for the same.
• Performing all the Database Administration activity like space management in database, user
and roles administration, schema management, checking alert log of all the databases

NOIDA PHASE II, INDIA. (07/2002 – 09/2002)
This project involved the integration of data and applications for GE Rail Car with the applications
for TIP Intermodal. It was a Data warehousing project where the data comes from AS400 and this
data is migrated in Oracle through Informatica Mappings. A front end application was made for
client using JavaScript and Servletts where users can see all the details about Customers and
various other activities like administration, calculation of depreciated values for containers, and
creating reports for containers.

Vijay’s responsibilities included:

• Database administration of the Oracle database of GE RAIL CAR System.
• Performing Backup/Recovery of all the Oracle databases using RMAN, also set RMAN
catalogue for the same.

GE REAL STATE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR GE REAL

STATE AT TCS NOIDA PHASE II, INDIA. (04/2002 – 06/2002)
This project was done for GE Real Estate. In this project reports were built in ASP and VB script
for end users where they can see various details about the headcount, Net income, equity and
debts of the company and various transactions that took place within a given time period. Back
end coding was done in PL/SQL and his responsibility was to administer the database and writing
packages in PL/SQL for the application.

Vijay’s responsibilities includes:

• Involved in administration of Oracle database for GE REAL ESTATE system.

position. Eaton is a global diversified industrial manufacturer that serves industrial, vehicle,
commercial, construction and aerospace markets.

WISPER deals with software development for EATON to measure Supplier performance and keep
track of supplier activities.

Vijay’s responsibilities included:

• Involved in the process of making screen layouts using Dream weaver tool in HLD phase.

Global Tracking System (GTS) tracks Container movement worldwide. GTS receives messages
form Message Originators spread across the globe, Validate & track these messages, and send
them to Internal Container Management (ICM) system situated at London. GTS’ existing system is
on IBM's UTS Mainframe. PONL migrated it to IBM's AIX Mainframe as a consistent platform
across PONL system. In the migration process GTS system was ported from Developer Form 3.0
(CUI Interface) to Form 6.0 (GUI Interface), Database from Oracle 7.1 to Oracle 8.0, and
Compatible Server program migration form UTS to AIX System.

Induction training at Tata Infotech Ltd., NEPZ. The training program 5 months 1999
covered various basic courses like Computer Hardware Concepts, Jul
Computer Networks, Introduction to Windows NT, Refresher one-day -Nov
courses on Unix and C, DBMS Concepts, RDBMS Concepts, GUI
Concepts, Data Structures and Effective Technical Documentation. Also
included were various modules of Software Engineering – namely S/W
Engineering Overview, S/W Development Methodologies, Systems
Analysis and Requirements definition Study and S/W System Design. On
the quality aspects, the courses covered were Quality Management
Systems Awareness, S/W Reviews and Testing. Extensive training on the
Unisys 2200 mainframe was imparted- i.e., 2200 Basic Concepts (including
ECL, ED and IPF), Cobol (on 2200), Mapper, Y2K Awareness, DMS 1100
& TIP & DPS. Open systems training was on Oracle and DV 2000, C++
The participants were also given enough orientation on cross-functional
skills like Communication and Presentation skills, Team Work, Customer
Orientation, Office Manners and Business Etiquette, Creative Problem
Solving, Selling Skills. In the end they executed a small project on 2200
mainframe using Cobol.
