I, Patel Vraj Shaileshbhai, would like to introduce myself to the Illinois Institute of Technology with a dream
of making my career in computer science. As an occupation, computer science is a very versatile field, and
computer scientists are needed in almost every field. My academic details, work experiences, family
background, and reasons for choosing this degree at Illinois Institute of Technology are stated below. My
passport number is V3312093.
Academic Background:
I completed my schooling under the Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board in 2019 where
I appeared for the SSC exam in 2017 and for HSC in 2019 scoring 66.5% and 57% respectively. As my main
subjects in high school were physics, chemistry, and mathematics I decided to go for an engineering degree
for my bachelor's. In 2023, with an 8.13 CGPA, I received my bachelor's in engineering degree with a
specialization in computer science from Sal Engineering and Technology Institute affiliated with Gujarat
Technological University, Ahmedabad.
Professional Experiences:
Mind inventory: At this organization, I had really good exposure to the computer industry and office
environment. In this three-month internship, I gained internal knowledge of the industry's overall work and
technicalities. I learned teamwork, developed communication skills, and gained an understanding of
industry-level projects.
EliteEvince Technologies: A short-term internship helped me to develop my skills as a developer where I
learned the standards and structure of the project and how to execute them and gained an understanding of
various projects.
Praxware Technology: At the Praxware internship, I had to deal with Python. I found it very interesting and
it helped me to better understand Python as a language and its algorithms and structures.
Projects:
Throughout my academics, I have worked on several projects to acquire practical knowledge about the
subjects which I have learned.
A result management system that I developed during one of my internships, makes it easy to manage
students' data and it easily generates results which makes it very easy for educational institutions to manage
and save the data of students very efficiently. A result Management System project is essential in the
computer science field because it ensures data security, scalability, and adaptability.
Furthermore, I have also developed an Email sender that sends mail without using G-mail or any other type
of mailing services and an SMS sender that sends text messages to people at the same time. Both can serve
practical communication needed for organizations and individuals.
Overall, I have developed my skills in various computer languages like HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL,
VUE, JS, and Python.
Why USA:
Although the same course is widely available in my country India, I am willing to pursue this degree in the
USA for several compelling reasons. First of all, in India, universities and colleges are still relying on
traditional teaching methods while in the USA universities and institutes focus more on practical knowledge
than the theoretical mode of teaching, which, for my desired course, is mandatory. Moreover, the USA is a
land for all the academic and professional opportunities I am looking for. One of the main reasons why I
have chosen the USA to study over any other country for this particular course is the reputation of the
teaching institutes. I will get exposure to the outside world while studying or after finishing my degree
thanks to the availability of internships and placements that institutes in the USA are providing. The USA is
a hub of big companies and getting work experience there will make me stand out of the crowd when I come
back to India. The best education system in the USA will distinguish me from peers with similar
backgrounds and career experiences. The Americans are known for their hospitality and this country accepts
every culture and their way of life. Lifestyle, quality of education, and exposure to multinational companies
are my main reasons for choosing the USA for my master's degree.
Family Background:
My mother, Nitaben Patel, is a government teacher, who raised me single-handedly after my father,
Shaileshbhai Patel, passed away. She has always supported me in my every decision.
My uncle, Vikas Patel, and my mother are going to sponsor my education in the USA.
Goals and Aspirations:
After pursuing this degree, I will be able to work in a number of posts as a Software Engineer, Backend
Developer, Big Data Platform Engineer, Data Scientist, Site Reliability Engineer, or Technology Analyst.
Apart from teamwork, leadership, and creativity, I will be gaining more skills in computer languages, cloud
management, and data analysis with this degree. I will use my post-study work visa to explore and
experience the work culture in the USA. So, when I come back to India, I will become a desirable candidate
among my peers and will become a top choice of employers.
In India, in computer science fields, employees to job ratio is very high. That is why such excellent
academics and exposure will help me get into multinational companies like TCL, Vipro, Tech Mahindra,
Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, etc.
I have sufficient funds to manage my tuition fees and living expenses in the US. My mother and my uncle
are going to sponsor my education. Lastly, so far, I don’t have any immigration history. Thank you for taking
the time to read my application. I am excited about pursuing my education in the USA at your esteemed
institution.
Regards,
Vraj Patel
