NOTIFICATION
(For Admission to Ph.D.)
Online applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. in various subjects through Ph.D.
Entrance Test-2023 as per provisions of University Research Ordinance 101 and University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree)
Regulations, dated 7th November, 2022.
Eligibility: As per University Research Ordinance 101 and University Grants Commission
(Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, Dated 7th
November, 2022.
Number of Seats available: As per the details given below in this notification.
Ph.D.: Admission to Ph.D. in different subjects will be made subject to availability of seats
as displayed on the University website in the order of merit in Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023
(Qualifying test and Interview)
Reservation of Seats: As per Reservation Policy of the State Govt.
Application Form: To be filled online from 02.12.2023 to 16.12.2023 and hard copy to be
submitted to Dr. Abhishek Vashishtha, Coordinator, PET-2023, Directorate of Research,
Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner University, Jaisalmer Road, NH-15,
Bikaner 334004, Rajasthan, along with the proof of fees and attested copies of supporting
documents in including :
Secondary, Senior Secondary, Graduation, Post Graduation, NET, NET-JRF,
SLET/SET or equivalent, Caste Certificate (attach latest valid OBC and EWS
certificate, if applicable), Domicile Certificate, Physically Handicap Certificate.
Application Fee: Rs. 3000/- for candidates of Unreserved/OBC(creamy layer) category and
Rs. 2500/- for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) /MBC/EWS category to be
paid through online mode through University website.
Candidate must keep one printout of application form and proof of paid fees for his personal
record.
Last date for submission of Application:

16 December, 2023 for online submission
22 December, 2023 for submission of hard copy of application form in the Office
of Coordinator, PET-2023.
The hard copy of the application form received after 22.12.2023 (5.00 PM) will not be
entertained in any case.
The hard copy of the application form must be sent by speed post or by hand only and not
by courier or any other agency.

Date and Time of Test: 08.02.2024 : 12:00 PM-02:00 PM
Pattern of Entrance Test: The entrance test shall be of qualifying nature with qualifying
marks as 50% (a relaxation of 5 % marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for the
candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled category, Economically Weaker
Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the rules). The syllabus of the
entrance test shall consist of 50% portion from subject specific domain and 50% from
research methodology. The paper shall consist of 70 objective type multiple choice questions
of 1 mark each. The test shall be of 2 hours duration. Answers will be marked on OMR sheet.
The qualified candidates twice the number of Advertised seats shall be called for interview.
For final selection a weightage of 70 % for the entrance test and 30 % for the performance in
the interview/viva- voce shall be given.

Admit Card: To be downloaded from University website from 31-01-2024.
Notes:
1. Candidates are advised to visit the University website (www.mgsubikaner.ac.in and
www.univindia.net) from time to time for related announcements and updates. No. correspondence
with individual candidates will be made or entertained.
2. Permission to appear in the Entrance test does not guarantee the eligibility for the admission. All the
applicants who fill up the online application form will be provisionally allowed to appear in the
written Examination. The eligibility for admission to Ph.D. will be checked after the entrance
examination (before interview).
3. On account of the eligibility conditions or any unavoidable circumstances, University reserves the
right to cancel the admission to Ph.D. even at a later stage.
4. Eligibility as on last date on filling the online application form shall be considered. Any addition in
eligibility or otherwise thereafter will not be considered.
5. All matter related to Ph.D. Entrance Test shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Rajasthan High Court,
Jodhpur.
