    What is a WASH project?
    WASH is the collective term for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
    WASH aims to provide education, awareness, and funding to supply
    clean drinking water and sanitation education to schools and

    children in underdeveloped regions .

    What are the components of WASH?
    These three disciplines—Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene—commonly referred to as
    “WASH,” can virtually eliminate waterborne diseases.

    What is WASH and why is it important? WASH services provide for water
    availability and quality, presence of sanitation facilities and availability of soap
    and water for hand washing. Adequate water, sanitation and hygiene are
    essential components of providing basic health services.

    Sanitation is more than just toilets, it encompasses the facilities,
    behaviors, and services that prevent diseases caused by contact
    with human waste. Hygiene refers to behaviors that can improve
    cleanliness and lead to good health.

    Sanitation and hygiene is Safe disposal of faeces (both human
    and animal); General hygiene (laundry, surfaces, toilets, baths,
    sinks); and. Disposal of solid waste, control of wastewater and
    rainwater.

    Rapid assessment and rehabilitation of damaged water systems.


    Providing safe drinking water and constructing water treatment
    tanks.
    Building toilets and hygiene facilities.
    Distributing menstrual hygiene products.
