“Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.”

You will be required to write and post ONE story to the class Google Site.

● Both types of stories must have the following

o Both must be nonfiction.
o Both must be “True,” but can be exaggerated to varying degrees for effect.
o Both must have a thematic statement. This message needs to be bolded in your story.
o Both must be from YOUR first-person perspective.
o Both need appropriate paratext and design elements.
o Both must be published on Google Site
● Memoirs:
o Looks like a story
o Is a nonfiction story from your past.
o Write about time you learned an important life lesson and lightly exaggerate it for poetic
or comedic effect.
o Has a thematic message or a central argument about something you learned about life.
● Gonzo Journalism:
o Looks like journalism but is incredibly biased.
o Is a nonfiction journal article but GREATLY exaggerated.

uncomfortable at.
