“POVERTY”

Poverty is defined as a lack of resources, the inability to meet basic necessities, and a lack of access to
social infrastructure. Poverty is the condition of not being able to afford basic necessities, including food,
healthcare, clean water, and shelter, and having fewer resources and incomes than others within a country.
Poverty remains one of the major social issues in Pakistan, affecting millions of people
across the country. Major causes poverty include:
• Lack of education
• Overpopulation
• Corruption
• Unemployment
• Economic inequality
• Lack of Infrastructure
• Natural Disasters or Climate Changes

Inequality of income is one of the main factors contributing to Pakistan's high

poverty rate. The wealth of the nation lies in the hands of wealthy individuals,
while a large population struggles to survive. This income distribution
inequality worsens poverty and makes it difficult to escape poverty.
Nearly 60% of the Pakistani population lives in villages. According to the
analysis, poverty has increased roughly from 30 to 40% during the past decade.
In such conditions, people are depressed, and they are forced to think about their
survival. Parents, instead of sending their children to school, prefer child labour
for them.
Lack of access to high-quality education and access to basic necessities affects a large section of Pakistan's
population, which limits opportunities for acquiring new skills and achieving status.
Pakistan's most significant issues include unemployment which is mainly
due to overpopulation and lack of family planning especially in rural areas
due to illiteracy. Population is increasing day by day but the resources are
limited. Due to culture of nepotism and political interference the high skilled
students can’t get job because they don’t have any reference. Corruption
causes economic inequality and unjust tax policies that benefit the affluent
and powerful while stealing from the middle class and poorer classes.
Poverty is a result of several factors, including fewer social expenditures.
Promoting education, especially in rural regions, can help end poverty and lower the rate of
illiteracy. Investing in education by offering scholarships and free training courses so that students
may obtain a quality education. Poverty may be decreased by prohibiting corruption, implementing
strict anti-corruption laws, and providing resources to all classes of people, not just the rich. provide
educational and employment opportunities for all talented and intelligent children, not just affluent
or well-known ones or those from well-known families. A reduction in unemployment can be
achieved through encouraging entrepreneurship and small businesses. Government should also
promote foreign investment. The government of Pakistan has to concentrate on the nation's growth
and give its citizens access to high-quality living conditions.
