ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024
After struggling through the Midterm Assessment, the school gave students in grades 7-9 2
days off. Gerald felt very happy because before Midterm his father and mother promised to go on
vacation to Bali.
Saturday, October 14, 2023 to Tuesday, October 17, 2023 became a fun holiday for Gerald. He
and his family visited many tourist attractions there. Until the last day of vacation, they visited one of
the souvenir centers for the family at home and headed to the airport at 11:00. On that day, the
temperature in Bali was so hot that it reached 35℃. When the plane took off, Gerald was still looking
at his cell phone to check the temperature. It turns out that every 1 km increase in airplane, the air
temperature decreases by 2℃. If the air temperature at x km above the ground is y℃, then :

Semester (PTS), Sekolah memberikan waktu libur kepada siswa-
siswi kelas 7-9 selama 2 hari. Gerald merasa senang sekali
karena sebelum PTS Ayah dan Ibunya menjanjikan untuk pergi
berlibur ke Bali.
Sabtu, 14 Oktober 2023 hingga Selasa, 17 Oktober 2023
menjadi hari libur yang menyenangkan bagi Gerald. Ia bersama
keluarganya mengunjungi banyak sekali tempat wisata disana.
Hingga tibalah di hari terakhir liburan, mereka mengunjungi
salah satu pusat oleh-oleh untuk keluarga di rumah dan menuju
ke bandara pada pukul 11.00. Pada hari itu, suhu udara di Bali panas sekali hingga mencapai 35℃.
Saat pesawat berangkat, Gerald masih melihat handphonenya untuk cek suhu udara di sekitar.
Ternyata setiap kenaikan pesawat 1 km, suhu udara berkurang sebesar 2℃. Jika suhu udara saat x km
di atas permukaan tanah adalah y℃, maka :)

surrounding air. (Apabila sebuah pesawat mencapai ketinggian 11 km di atas permukaan
tanah, prediksikan berapa suhu udara di sekitar.)
3. Plot the map drawn by Gerald onto the Cartesian plane. (Prediksikan peta yang telah
digambar oleh Gerald ke dalam bidang kartesius.)
4. Predict the slope of the path that Gerald has traveled. (Prediksikan kemiringan jalur
perjalanan yang telah dilalui oleh Gerald.)
5. Predict how many cm the incense stick decreases every one minute. (Prediksikan berapa
cm batang dupa berkurang setiap satu menit.)
