Early life
• Elizabeth Woolridge Grant was born in
Manhattan, New York City on June 21, 1985.
Her parents are Robert England Grant Jr., a
copywriter, and Patricia Ann "Pat" Hill, an
account executive who worked at Grey Group.
Career beginnings
and early recordings
• In her early career, Lana faced her fair
share of challenges. She released her first
album, "Lana Del Ray A.K.A. Lizzy
Grant," in 2010, but it didn't gain
significant attention.
Born to die
• Lana Del Rey's debut album, "Born to Die," was
released in 2012 and achieved widespread acclaim,
establishing her as a major player in the music
industry. The album's moody, cinematic sound,
combined with her melancholic lyrics and vintage
imagery, resonated with a wide audience. Hits like
"Summertime Sadness" and "Blue Jeans" further
solidified her status as a pop icon.
paradise
• Paradise was released on November 12,
2012, as a standalone release, as well as
Born to Die: The Paradise Edition, which
combined Del Rey's previous album with
the additional eight tracks on Paradise.
Ultraviolence
• On January 26, 2014, Lana Del Rey released a
cover of "Once Upon a Dream" for the film
Maleficent. Her follow-up album, Ultraviolence, was
released on June 13, 2014, featuring production by
Dan Auerbach and debuted at number one in 12
countries, including the US and UK.
honeymoon
• Del Rey's album 'Honeymoon' was released
on September 18, 2015 to critical acclaim.
Before its release, she previewed the title
track, single 'High by the Beach', and
promotional single 'Terrence Loves You'.
Lust for life
• Del Rey's fifth studio album, Lust for Life,
was released on July 21, 2017. Prior to the
album release, four singles were dropped;
"Love," "Lust for Life" featuring The
Weeknd, "Summer Bummer" featuring
A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti, and
"Groupie Love" featuring Rocky as well.
Norman Fucking
Rockwell!
• Lana Del Rey's sixth album, "Norman Fucking
Rockwell!", was released in August 2019. Preceding the
album were several singles, including "Mariners
Apartment Complex", "Venice Bitch", "Hope Is a
Dangerous Thing for a Woman like Me to Have – but
I Have It", "Doin' Time", and a joint-single titled "Fuck
It, I Love You"/"The Greatest".
Chemtrails
over the
country club
• Lana Del Rey released her seventh studio album, Chemtrails
over the Country Club, on March 19, 2021. The album was
announced in 2019 with the title White Hot Forever and
was initially planned for release in 2020. However, due to a
delay in vinyl manufacturing, the release was postponed in
November 2020. The album has received critical acclaim
since its release.
Blue banisters
• Lana Del Rey released her eighth studio album
titled "Blue Banisters" on October 22, 2021. The
album was preceded by the simultaneous release of
three songs on May 20, 2021 - the title track, "Text
Book", and "Wildflower Wildfire" - as well as the
single "Arcadia" on September 8, 2021.
