Manufacturer must submit installation instructions, application conditions for storage, handling, protection, preparation and starting procedures. 6.41.4 MV ring main units shall be floor mounted both indoor and outdoor locations. The degrees of enclosure protection shall be IP3X and IP54 for indoor and outdoor respectely as per approved material submittal 6.15 The enclosure shall be an epoxy based paint light adniralty gray finished with ambient temperature 50° C as per manufacturers standard and specification 6.41.6 MV ring main units. shall be supplied with required rated as per approved submittal, 6.1.7 The unit shall be provided with earthing switches indicators ON, OFF land EARTH. The letters and background of the switches individually color coded as per approved submittal and specification. 6.1.8 A dear polycarbonate material shall be provide fo visual indicator and lockable operating mechanism shall also be provided as per approved ‘submittal and specification 6.1.9 For the switch fuse unit all ating willbe as per approved design and shall be in sccordance with SEC specifications 6.1.10 Safety intetocks for load breaks switches and switch fuse units Incorporated in MV RMUs shall be designed to prevent the operation ON to Earth ON and vice versa, switch access, withdrawal of test and Earth ON/Earth Off mechanism, ‘6.1.11 Vertical terminations of cables in the cable boxes of the equiprrent shall 'be done fora suitable connections as per manufacturer instruction, '6.1.12 Ensure that cables terminated to the unit are well arranged and fitted ‘such that each log ofthe ring has an indicator. It shall be fitted onthe left hand side switch delivered pre-installed. age 4 17 6.1.13 Associated equipment ( switchgear and transformer ) of MV ring main 6.1.14 Building Management System ( BMS ) sh Unit shall be also strictly in accordance with manufactur’s demand and supervision, bbe coordinaied to the RMU, [BMS shall be interfacing in order to manitor the status ard fault condition ofall switches. 6.2 Inspection Before the installation, an inspection should be made to both equipment ‘and the location where the unit willbe install. The inspection includes the physical aopearance of the unit, enough space for the RMU , any unsatisfied condition should be check and correct with the accordance of approved crawing and manufacturer's recommendation, 6.3 Installation of MV Ring Main Unit 634 32 633 634 635 636 637 The procedure ininstaling of MY ring main unit shal be in accordance with the manufacture’ installation instructions and shall comply withthe requirements of SASO, IEC, and SEC. Page Sof 17 63.8 During the instalation, cables came from Switchgear to RMU or from RMU to transformer or any cables connected to the MV ring main unit ‘mus! be properly arranged and must also be fited as per approved cable routing drawing 6.3.9 The Ring Main Units body should be earth using approved earthing ‘Materials and as per approved grounding system shop drawing, 63.10 Provide internal and external grounding terminals earthed to separate ‘mai earth grounding loop as per SCECO requirement. 6.3.11 Ensure tohave an approved sized of earthing conductors connected to cable glands as required by SCECO. 6.3.12 Used only fre rated high conductivity PVC insulated copper conductor ‘and soft drawn bare copper conductor for earthing system. 163.13. Forfinal checking, all connections wil be torque as per manufacturer's demand as shown in table 4 6.3.14 In adition, after the installation and termination inspect forthe possible damaged, 6.3.18 Remove foreign materials and clean the unit before closing the enclosure. Check ifthe measurement of base or fat form for RMU and cable routing ‘are as per approved drawing 7.3. Tess for protection relay and devices, insulation resistance, operationalload test shall be perform to demonstrate that the operational sequence of Ring Main Unit conforms tothe various mode operation. In addition, it should also undergo several check up to check quality and conformity such as: 1) Tightness chock ») Filling pressure check ©} Opening and closing speed measurement 4) Operating torque measurement €) Partial discharge check ) Dielectric chock (See Annexure A-Test Reports) 17.4 The following tests below should be done before connection of power cabling: 12) Test alignment and operation of load break switches and switch fuse unit b) Test power bus insulation (HIPOT - tmin, Flash Tost) (See Annexure A ~ Test Reports) (©) Check earth faut relay calibration and operation (see Annexure A- Test Reports) 4) Check proper function of all order components and controls (see ‘Annexure A-Test Reports) ) Check earthing continuity Page 7117 7.5.
