Advocacy Worksheet Plan

Purpose The purpose of this advocacy is to support animal rights and to ensure that non-human
animals are treated humanely and without unnecessary suffering.
Introduction Animal rights are the belief or idea that some or all animals have a right to their
fundamental needs, including the ability to possess their own lives and other necessities for
survival.
It is the view that believes all animals are born free, just like us humans, and that we
shouldn't use them for human purposes. The goal of animal rights is to grant animals the
same rights as people so that they are not slaughtered or subjected to cruel treatment.
This study gives more information about the movement for animal rights and can also raise
public awareness of the idea that animals are intellectual, sensitive, and emotional beings
who should've treated with respect. Just like our dogs are our stress relievers and security
of our homes but sometimes we can not control our emotions which is the other reason
why humans accidentally hurt and abuse animals.
Body Animal abuse cases are increasing as a result of the widespread practice of animal cruelty,
which has led to the government passing the Animal Welfare Act.
Not just from the Philippines, but also from other nations like New Zealand, the United
Kingdom, and others.
The "Animal Welfare Act of 1998," also known as Republic Act 8485, is a law that promotes
animal welfare in the Philippines.
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to protect and promote the welfare of all animals in
the Philippines by supervising end regulating the establishment and operations of all
facilities utilized for breeding, maintaining, keeping, treating or training of all animals either
as objects of trade or as household pets.
And Republic Acts 10631 and 9482 are the laws that support animal rights in the
Philippines, and violators face a six-month to one-year prison sentence as well as a fine of
no more than 30,000 pesos (P30,000.00).
10 million animals perish from mistreatment each year. Additionally, 100 million animals
are used in research studies. We can confidently estimate that more than 100 million
animals worldwide experience abuse each year, despite the fact that not all incidents are
reported.
Conclusion Animals play an important role in both our planet's and human lives. Therefore it is our
responsibility as humans to protect and love animals for a better future. And there are
steps you can take to protect and stop animal cruelty from happening, including being a
responsible pet owner, setting a good example for other pets, enlightening those around
you about the problem, helping others who are struggling with their animals, reporting
animal cruelty, loving your pet, and not taking out your frustrations on your pet.
