An Autobiography
Would you like it if a so-called friend betrayed you and ruined your life? I don’t

think so. That is what Cady, a new girl from my freshman year in high school did to me.

In the hallowed halls of North Shore High, I, Regina George stood at the apex of

popularity. I effortlessly commanded the attention of my peers. It was only during my

freshman year that I realized the power I held. My allegiance to The Plastics, a girl

group including Gretchen, Karen and I, solidified my reign and helped me establish an

unspoken royalty within our school.

Another usual day of royalty, I walked into school with The Plastics. Something

felt amiss, the whispers about me were unusual, it wasn’t about me! It was about some

new girl named Cady. I knew I had to know who this Cady girl was, as long as she is not

going to be better than me. Well, obviously. During recess, I saw an odd face, I could

not recognize it. “That must be Cady!” Gretchen exclaimed, my face was fumed with

jealousy. I invited Cady to our table and she looked surprised. “You’re like, really pretty,

like a flower blooming,” I commented. She thanked me and as a way to embarrass her,

“So you agree?” I announced, “you think you’re really pretty?”. Cady turned as red as a

tomato. We sat in silence for a while until I had a brilliant idea. Murmuring my ideas to

Gretchen and Karen, we all agreed in concurrence. We invited Cady to sit with us for

the rest of the week. She had to think about it. “Think about it?” Gretchen scoffed,

“Regina is royalty. You should be lucky to be sitting with her now.”

The next day, Cady came to sit with us. Karen kept telling Cady how crazy

Cady’s new friend was, Janis Ian. “She is a total emo,” Gretchen laughed. Soon, Cady

and I were bonding a lot. We two were inseparable. I told Cady all my secrets and she

even gave me a candy bar that made me lose weight! What a great friend! She even

told me she had a crush on Aaron, my ex. I would totally help her. However, I found out

that the candy bar that apparently made me lose weight actually made me gain weight. I

pursed my lips and clenched my fists. Within seconds, I erupted like a volcano. With

anger fumed into my body, I made lies about that traitor, Cady.

The teachers had to put this to an end and asked every student to apologise for

the people they hurt. I had a lot of things, but put them into one big sentence. I

mustered all my strength and dropped behind, hoping that my schoolmates would catch

me. Fortunately, they did. At last, we learnt that we were just immature high school

students, who hated one another for no reason.
