Introduction
The Name of the project is “Sanghutar Water Supply Project”. This project lies in the area of
Sanghutar, Deurali, Gothgau Village Development Committee (VDC) of Ramechhap District
of Bagmati Province. The district, known as wallo Kirat Ramechhap, with Manthali as its
district headquarters, covers an area of 1,546 km2 (597 sq mi) and has a population (2011) of
202,646 and a density of 137.4 per km2. Sanghutar is a village development committee in
Ramechhap District in the Janakpur Zone (now Bagmati Province) of north-eastern Nepal. At
the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 2,177 people living in 394 individual
households. Deurali is a village development committee in Ramechhap District in the Janakpur
Zone of north-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 3,459.
Gothgau is a village development committee in Ramechhap District in the Janakpur Zone of
north-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 2,368 people
living in 465 individual households.
1.3 Adverse impact on the environment impact on human life, and population pressure
During the construction phase of the project, the local community will get employment
which will help the local economy. Impact on environment is less compare as there is
less no of trees to be cut. For every no of trees cut, 10 trees will be planted to compensate
for the environment impact. After the completion of the project, the local people will
get wholesome water which will improve the health condition and help to eradicate
waterborne disease. The living condition will improve and people will stop migrating
to other areas for better living.
3. Proposal details
The proposal is for construction of water supply scheme. The installation capacity will
be enough to sustain the supply of those areas without interruption at peak hours.
Number of houses to be operated per day is around 300 nos.
Materials to be used
For the construction of this project, the materials to be used are cement, sand, aggregate,
brick, HDPE pipe, GI pipe, Materials for fitting, etc. The quantity of the material used
will be according to the designed estimate considering losses.
Energy to be used
i. Type
Fossil fuel for vehicle, Electricity for pipe fitting. The project is of gravity flow so no
electricity needed for operation, needed only during maintenance period if necessary.

Depend upon the usage per day up to base period.
