    Hello everyone. Today we are going to talk about a successful company that you all know which is
    Amazon.
    First of all, we will talk about the history of the firm, then we are going to deal with the most
    famous activities of Amazon. After that, we think it would be interesting to talk about some finance
    informations of the company, such as the turnover. And finally, we will conclude with the future of
    this well-known firm.

    So, Amazon.com is an american multinational technology company which has been referred as
    « one of the most influential economic and cultural forces in the world » and is one of the world’s
    most valuable brands.
    It was created by Jeff Bezos from his garage in Bellevue (Washington) on July 5 1994. At the
    beginning, Amazon was supposed to be an online marketplace for books but it has expanded into a
    multitude of product categories. Thanks to its expansion, Amazon has now many subsidiaries like
    Audible, Twitch or Amazon Prime.
    Amazon proposed multiples of products and services. People have the opportunity to buy electronic
    products or groceries or again jewelry. As for the services, customers can for example, subscribe to
    Amazon Prime where they will be able to watch TV shows or movies. Even if Amazon has a bright
    success, he has to deal with a lot of competitors such as Ebay, Netflix or Aliexpress.
    In 2019, the turnover stood at 348.63$ billions and sharply increased in 2020 to 495.33$ billions
    due to the Covid crisis. Unlike others companies, this crisis boosted the sales of Amazon. Since
    people were confined, e-commerce exploded and thus it was profitable for this company.
    Amazon counts around 1 608 000 employees worldwide, including 950 000 US employees.
    This company is well-known all around the world and has its influence in France. Indeed in France,
    Amazon is the first site of e-commerce and realized revenues of 7.73 billions euros, plus it also
    counts around 14 500 employees on a permanent contract.

    To conclude, Amazon, that is experiencing a dazzling success in these times of technological


    advance, tends to expand itself and to invest in logistics and robotics companies. In fact, the
    company said that they plan to invest $1 billion in companies developing technologies in logistics ,
    supply chain chain management and safety.

    companies, this crisis boosted the sales of Amazon. In 2022, Amazon's turnover could reach 729
    billion dollars.
    To conclude, Amazon plans to develop in the field of logistics and robotics by investing heavily.
